ReviewPersonalized and Patient-Centered Strategies to Improve Positive Airway Pressure Adherence in Patients with Obstructive Sleep Apnea.
Obstructive sleep apnea (OSA), a common sleep disorder characterized by repeated pauses in breathing during sleep, is effectively treated with positive airway pressure (PAP) therapy. The magnitude of improvements in daily functioning and reduced negative health risks are dependent on maintaining PAP adherence, which is a significant challenge. ⋯ Further, to date, individualized care, inclusive of personalized medicine and patient- and person-centered care have been marginally incorporated in the field's understanding of OSA and PAP adherence. This integrative review describes current PAP adherence assessment processes, interventions to improve adherence, and outlines future opportunities to advance the field, particularly as it relates to individualizing care and the use of implementation science to apply evidence to practice.

Oncologist and Patient Preferences for Novel Agents in First-Line Treatment for Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia: Commonalities and Disconnects.
Treatment for chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL) has changed dramatically with the approval of novel agents. Information regarding how patients and oncologists make trade-offs across attributes of novel therapies is limited. The purpose of this study was to understand how variations in attributes impact treatment choice among patients and oncologists. ⋯ Patient-oncologist communication may be improved by a more focused discussion on the risks of AEs, relative to treatment outcomes, with patient goals in mind.

Barriers to Dental Care in Individuals with Special Healthcare Needs in Qatif, Saudi Arabia: A Caregiver's Perspective.
Access to dental care is a key factor influencing oral health outcomes. Individuals with special healthcare needs are at risk of not having access to dental care services which they need to maintain their oral health. This study assessed the magnitude of this problem and identified barriers responsible for the difficulties in accessing dental care in Qatif, Saudi Arabia, as reported by caregivers of individuals with special healthcare needs. ⋯ A large proportion of caregivers in Qatif, Saudi Arabia, experience difficulties with access to dental care services for individuals with special healthcare needs. The most common barriers are physical accessibility of dental facilities (for individuals with special healthcare needs), affordability, and lack of skills and knowledge of dental care providers.

Use of Adjuvant Endocrine Therapy Among Post-Menopausal Breast Cancer Patients in Malaysia.
Globally, breast cancer is the most common cancer affecting women, and adjuvant endocrine therapy (AET) is part of its treatment modality, which improves patients' outcome. However, there are concerns on side effects related to its use, which may affect treatment adherence. ⋯ Several themes concerning attitude and practice of breast cancer patients receiving AET were identified, which may be addressed during treatment consultations in clinical practice.

A Cross-National Survey of People Living with Hemophilia: Impact on Daily Living and Patient Education in Central Europe.
Information about the impact of hemophilia on daily living and information preferences for patients and their caregivers in Central Europe has been limited. ⋯ Based on our Central European survey, hemophilia mostly affects peoples' lives by causing mobility difficulties, unexpected bleeding, pain and uncertainty in daily activities. Although the majority of respondents reported being educated about hemophilia, most PwH and CPwH respondents sought additional information, highlighting the need for continuous personalized patient education to cope with present challenges.
