ReviewTreatment adherence: A Concept Analysis Using the Walker & Avant Method.
To clarify the meaning of treatment adherence and identify its attributes, antecedents, consequences, and empirical referents. ⋯ Treatment adherence is a positive reaction of a patient to have the ability to comply with the treatment, consistency in the treatment plan, communication with the healthcare provider, and willingness to treat. This study proposes a detailed definition, attributes, antecedents, consequences, and empirical referents for treatment adherence. It is instructive to clinical nursing of treatment adherence, can be extended to various diseases, helps to improve clinical nursing practice regarding treatment adherence, and contribute to improving human health.

ReviewEducational Interventions for Individuals with Insulin-Treated Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus: A Systematic Review.
To evaluate and synthesize evidence on the impact of educational interventions for individuals with insulin-treated type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM). ⋯ Educational interventions are crucial for improving diabetes-related outcomes and reducing complications in individuals with insulin-treated T2DM. These interventions enhance knowledge, attitudes, and self-management practices, leading to better glycemic control and quality of life. Healthcare settings should develop and provide tailored educational programs for individuals with insulin-treated T2DM to optimize outcomes and minimize complications.

ReviewImproving Medication Adherence Levels in Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) Patients: A Narrative Evidence-Based Review.
Inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) management is typified by a long-term medication regimen which can comprise multiple medications prescribed in different combinations, doses, frequencies, and with various administration routes. This complexity can make medication adherence (MA) - patients taking their medications per the prescription - for patients with IBD a challenge. The research corpus contains diverse interventions aimed at improving MA in patients with IBD. ⋯ This reflects the reality that MA is impacted by multiple factors encompassing those pertaining to the patient, disease, therapy, patients' socioeconomic status, and health system. Hence, the most ideal interventions would likely be multifaceted patient-level interventions alongside policy/system-level strategies, to maximise the potential for successfully improving patients' MA. These findings might have been impacted by the heterogeneity of the studies in terms of the method of MA assessment, duration of interventions, and more besides.

ReviewPatient Acceptability and Preferences for Solid Oral Dosage Form Drug Product Attributes: A Scoping Review.
There is no consistent framework for patient-centric drug product design, despite the common understanding that drug product acceptability and preferences influence adherence and, therefore, drug product effectiveness. The aim of this review was to assess current understanding of patient acceptability and preferences for solid oral dosage form (SODF) drug product attributes, and the potential impact of these attributes on patient behaviors and outcomes. ⋯ While existing studies of drug product attributes have focused on appearance and swallowability, this review highlighted the importance of two less well-understood domains-palatability and handling-in understanding patients' acceptability and preferences for SODF drug products. The framework provides a tool to facilitate patient-centric design of drug products, organizing and categorizing physical drug product attributes into four overarching domains (appearance, swallowability, palatability, and handling), encouraging researchers to comprehensively assess the impact of drug product attributes on patient acceptability, preferences, and outcomes.

ReviewA Systematic Review of Quality of Life in Patients with Short Bowel Syndrome and Their Caregivers.
Understanding the quality of life and the factors that influence it for patients with short bowel syndrome (SBS) and their caregivers is of utmost importance in order to enhance their well-being. Therefore, This study aimed to provide a comprehensive understanding of the impact of SBS on patients and their caregivers, as well as its associated factors, by synthesizing the available evidence. ⋯ While numerous studies have provided insights into the compromised QoL experienced by individuals with SBS and their caregivers, there remains a scarcity of large-sample quantitative investigations examining the determinants of QoL. The existing body of literature on caregivers is also notably deficient.
