Retrospective Analysis of the Effects of Non-Compliance with Denosumab on Changes in Bone Mineral Density During the COVID-19 Pandemic.
Although denosumab is a safe and effective treatment for osteoporosis in various clinical trials, few studies have investigated its efficacy in specific clinical situations. The effect of non-compliance with the standard six-month dosing regimen for denosumab on bone mineral density (BMD) was assessed in a retrospective study of patients prescribed denosumab during the COVID-19 pandemic. ⋯ The results of this study show that in special clinical situations, such as the COVID-19 pandemic, clinicians may have some flexibility to prescribe denosumab, but the interval between injections should not exceed 9 months.

Adherence to Iron and Folic Acid Supplements and Associated Factors Among Pregnant Mothers Attending ANC at Gulele Sub-City Government Health Centers in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
Even though antenatal care (ANC) visits seems to be the key strategy to increase adherence to iron and folic acid supplements during pregnancy, the problem still remains unresolved. Therefore, this study planned to assess adherence to iron and folic acid supplements and associated factors among pregnant mothers attending ANC at Gulele sub-city Government Health Centers in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, 2019. ⋯ The status of maternal adherence was medium compared with other studies, and maternal educational status, knowledge about anemia, exposure to information, experiencing of health problems, and forgetfulness were associated with adherence behavior. This indicates that improving dissemination of information about the supplements and designing a reminder mechanism was needed to improve the adherence status of mothers to the supplement.

Adherence to Treatment and Glycemic Control in Patients with Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus: A 4-Year Follow-up PTM Bogor Cohort Study, Indonesia.
Large-scale evaluation of the treatment adherence in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus (DM) in Indonesian is limited. We aim to evaluate the treatment adherence of Indonesian type 2 DM patients using national "big data" and investigate its association with glycemic parameters. ⋯ There were less than half as many treated patients as untreated patients involved in the PTM Bogor Study Group. At the fourth-year follow-up, treated patients experienced three times more significant decreases in FBG and PPBG than those who were untreated, even after being controlled by several confounding factors. Given the importance of these findings, it is suggested that immediate strategic action be taken to improve Indonesian patients' adherence to treatment.
