Exploring Attitudes Toward Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis for HIV Prevention Prior to Implementation Among Female Sex Workers in Malaysia: Results from a Qualitative Study.
Pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) is an effective method for prevention of HIV transmission. Female sex workers (FSW) in Malaysia are at substantially increased risk of acquiring HIV compared to the general female population, yet little is known about this population's current HIV prevention practices or acceptance of PrEP. This study aims to inform the culturally relevant implementation of PrEP through the qualitative exploration of (1) the potential need for PrEP in this population and (2) the factors that determine FSW willingness to use oral PrEP. ⋯ The findings suggest that in combination with condom use, PrEP may be an acceptable method of HIV prevention. Effective PrEP rollout may also include condom promotion using a peer-driven model, cost subsidies, and sex work harm reduction and empowerment components.

Intake Patterns and Experiences of Patients Using Direct Oral Anticoagulants Measured by Electronic Monitoring in Community Pharmacies.
Several international organizations advocate for monitoring of adherence to direct oral anticoagulants (DOACs), given the prevalent issue of suboptimal adherence to DOACs. The aim was to investigate intake patterns in patients on DOAC therapy by electronic monitoring of medication adherence in community pharmacies (using a Medication Event Monitoring System® (MEMS®)-device), and to assess patients' experiences with this device. ⋯ High adherence rates were observed, but there was still room for improvement regarding intake moments. Positive experiences with an electronic device for medication adherence monitoring were reported.

Mediating Effect of Perceived Health Competence on the Association Between Mindfulness and Adherence to Health Behaviors in Patients with Acute Coronary Syndrome: A Cross-Sectional Study.
Given the importance of adherence to health behaviors in patients with acute coronary syndrome (ACS) and the potential influence of mindfulness, it is important to determine the association between mindfulness and adherence to health behaviors and its potential mechanisms in this population. Perceived health competence is a person's confidence in his/her ability to achieve health goals successfully and may explain how mindfulness influences adherence to health behaviors. This study aimed to examine the association between mindfulness and adherence to health behaviors and whether this association was mediated by perceived health competence. ⋯ The adherence to health behaviors in patients with ACS was very low. Mindfulness positively predicted adherence to health behaviors, and perceived health competence partially mediated the association between mindfulness and adherence to health behaviors. Healthcare providers could intervene patients' mindfulness or perceived health competence to improve adherence to health behaviors.

Assessing Public Awareness, Utilization and Satisfaction with Community Pharmacy Services.
The Saudi Community pharmacy sector has been changing towards patient-centred care rather than depending solely on dispensing medications. Accordingly, pharmacies can now provide many services that they previously could not offer. The aims of this study were to identify all pharmacy services provided in a community setting and to assess public awareness and utilization of and satisfaction with these services. ⋯ The majority of the participants were unaware of the full range of available pharmacy services. There is a potential for community pharmacists to fill the capacity gap in the healthcare system since, overall, the participants rated the pharmacies' clinical services as satisfactory. Commissioners of pharmacy services may consider extending the scope of community pharmacies to include services that best utilize the expertise of clinical pharmacists.
