Impact of Pharmacist-Led Intervention on Adherence to Inhalers, Inhalation Technique, and Disease Control Among Asthma/COPD Patients in a Resource Limited Center: An Interventional Study.
Asthma and Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) are chronic respiratory conditions characterized by airflow obstruction and respiratory symptoms. Adherence to prescribed inhaler therapy and correct inhalation technique are essential for effective disease management and optimal disease control. However, non-adherence and incorrect inhalation technique are common challenges faced by patients with asthma and COPD, leading to suboptimal treatment outcomes and increased healthcare burden. ⋯ This study shows the potential efficacy of pharmacist-led intervention in enhancing adherence to inhaler, inhalation technique, and disease control in respiratory conditions such as asthma and COPD.

Influential Factors for Self-Management Among Patients with Diabetic Retinopathy: A Structural Equation Model Analysis.
To investigate the influencing factors of self-management of diabetic retinopathy (DR) by constructing a structural equation model (SEM) to analyze the relationships among self-management behavior, perceived social support, and trait coping style as well as to determine the influencing path in order to provide a theoretical reference for exploring a multipath health management model that can be used to improve the quality of life of DR patients. ⋯ The self-management of DR was at an intermediate level. Perceived social support and trait coping styles were important influencing factors for self-management behavior in DR patients. Therefore, improving perceived social support and trait coping styles can promote the self-management behavior of DR patients, reduce their psychological burden, and improve their compliance and quality of life.

Factors Predicting Obesity Prevention Behaviors Among Overweight Late Primary School Students in Nakhon Si Thammarat Province, Thailand.
Obesity is a significant global public health issue affecting late primary school students' health and learning processes. This research aimed to predict factors influencing the prevention behaviors of obesity among overweight 9 to 12-year-old students. ⋯ Male students who have good GPAs, high self-efficacy in food consumption and physical activity, nutrition education, and adequate financial support were more likely to engage in obesity prevention behaviors. Thus, educators and healthcare professionals should focus on enhancing self-perception, providing comprehensive nutrition education, and offering additional support to female students with lower GPAs. These measures will help improve behavior adjustment and support obesity prevention efforts.

Subjective Rationalities of Nonadherence to Treatment and Vaccination in Healthcare Decision-Making.
In this short report contributing to the literature on treatment and vaccination adherence, nonadherence was examined from the perspective of decision-making (DM) practice in healthcare. The objective of this study was to survey the rationalities given for treatment nonadherence and their association with DM practice. ⋯ In medical DM, adherence to treatment and vaccination may be achieved through a recognition of patients' previous healthcare encounters and potential trust-related concerns, which could pose a risk for nonadherence. To be able to observe these risks, patient engagement and mutual trust should be priorities in decision support in healthcare.

Predictive Value of Troponin I, Creatinine Kinase Isoenzyme and the New Japanese Severity Score in Severe Acute Pancreatitis.
To evaluate troponin I, creatine kinase isoenzyme, and the new Japanese Severity Score(JSS) for predicting Severe Acute Pancreatitis-Associated myocardial Injury(SACI). ⋯ Troponin I and creatine kinase isoenzymes combined with the new JSS have a high predictive value for SACI, improving the early prediction and treatment of at-risk patients.
