A Health State Utility Study to Elicit Societal Values Associated with Pulmonary Hypertension.
Pulmonary hypertension (PH) is a rare, severe, and progressive pulmonary vascular disease, which includes five subgroups with similar presentation. Symptoms include dyspnea, and fatigue, and can significantly impact one's health-related quality of life (HRQL). Although treatments are mainly medical, PH group 4, chronic thromboembolic pulmonary hypertension (CTEPH), can be managed with procedures, ie pulmonary endarterectomy (PEA) and balloon pulmonary angioplasty (BPA). Currently, drugs in Europe are only approved for pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH), and CTEPH therefore the aim of this study was to elicit novel societal health state utilities in the UK for PAH and CTEPH based on disease severity, functional class (FC), clinical events, and treatment procedures specifically for CTEPH. ⋯ This study reports societal utility values for PAH and CTEPH in the UK. It provides first utility estimates for states such as BPA procedure and recovery, PEA surgery and recovery and PH-related hospitalization for this population. The results show important distinctions between FC, treatment procedures, and hospitalization, and the significant burden of disease on HRQL.

Medication Adherence and Its Associated Factors Among Outpatients with Heart Failure.
Poor adherence to heart failure (HF) medications represents a major barrier to achieve the desired health outcomes in those patients. ⋯ The poor medication adherence in the present study sheds the light on the importance of implementing intervention programs which focus on improving patients' perception about the prescribed medications particularly for patients who have low educational levels, receive an anticoagulant, and do not receive a statin or an ACEI/ ARB.

Patient Perception of Route of Rectal Administration of Live Biotherapeutic Product for Recurrent Clostridioides difficile Infection.
CDI is a recurrent disease that is treated with antibiotics, but patients commonly experience repeat infections with significant impacts on hospital budgets and patient health quality. Standard of care management includes the antibiotics, vancomycin and fidaxomicin, which frequently provide clinical response, but do not avoid recurrence of Clostridioides difficile infection (rCDI). These recurrent infections occur due to dysbiosis of the colonic microbiota. One adjunctive therapeutic approach is to restore the deficient gastrointestinal flora using fecal microbiota transplantation (FMT) or live biotherapeutic products (LBP) when given after standard of care antimicrobials, which have been successful in reducing repeat infections with success rates up to 88%. FMT or LBP can be given by various routes. ⋯ LBP-recipients and LBP-naïve subjects alike felt that rectal delivery of microbiome therapy is not only acceptable but highly interesting as a treatment avenue.

An Age-Stratified Cross-Sectional Study of Physical Activity and Exercise Adherence of Stroke Survivors in Rural Regions.
To describe the Physical Activity and Exercise (PAE) adherence of stroke survivors in rural regions, additionally, to analyze the influential factors through age stratification. ⋯ It is necessary to improve the knowledge of physical activity in rural stroke patients of all ages. It is of great significance to install home rehabilitation equipment to promote exercise for young and middle-aged stroke patients. While for the old stroke patients, we strongly suggest focusing on the role of spouses, which would be more useful in low-income regions.

Assessing the Validity of Health Messages Used by the Saudi Public in WhatsApp.
WhatsApp is the most frequently used social media platform in Saudi Arabia. Inaccurate information could negatively impact public health. The number of studies worldwide investigating health-related misinformation in social media increased steadily, with limited data from Arabic-speaking communities. This study aimed to estimate the validity and safety of Arabic-language health information messages circulated on WhatsApp and identify the different categories of these messages based on their credibility. ⋯ This study showed a high percentage of inaccurate and invalid health-related messages on WhatsApp. Invalid messages with potential health risks were authored mostly by unknown sources or unqualified persons. Most health messages written by trusted authorities and qualified persons were valid. Trusted scientific authorities should thus be more active in public education on social media platforms. They should advise their communities on how to discern the validity of such messages. More efforts are needed to guide patients from where to obtain accurate and valid health information.
