ReviewSecukinumab for the Treatment of Psoriasis in Pediatrics: Patient Selection and Acceptability.
Psoriasis (PsO) is a chronic, systemic, immune-mediated inflammatory skin disease affecting 1% to 5% population worldwide. In one-third of patients, the first symptoms of PsO manifest in childhood, with a mean age of nine years. Psoriasis in children under 16 years of age constitutes 4% of dermatological problems in this age group. ⋯ Approved biologics for PsO in pediatric patients include etanercept, adalimumab, ustekinumab, ixekizumab and secukinumab. Secukinumab, a recombinant, fully human monoclonal antibody targeting IL-17A, was approved by the EMA (2020) and FDA (2021) in pediatric patients above 6 years of age for the treatment of moderate to severe plaque psoriasis who are candidates for systemic therapy. This review discusses the selection and acceptability of secukinumab in children with psoriasis.

ReviewComparison of Rare and Common Diseases in the Setting of Healthcare Priorities: Evidence of Social Preferences Based on a Systematic Review.
In light of the limited availability of healthcare resources, providing universal access to healthcare is a challenging task. As a result, prioritizing healthcare services has emerged as a crucial issue. This study aims to explore the preferences of the public regarding healthcare prioritization for rare and common diseases. By examining public attitudes, this study seeks to inform government decisions concerning resource allocation and distribution within healthcare. ⋯ International studies on social preferences provide some evidence for the setting of healthcare priorities for rare diseases, and health policymakers should consider social preferences in an integrated manner in order to set healthcare priorities appropriately.

ReviewIllness Perceptions, Cognitions, and Beliefs on COPD Patients' Adherence to Treatment - A Systematic Review.
Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) is a chronic inflammatory lung disease characterized by persistent respiratory symptoms and airflow limitation. Besides its irreversibility, COPD is a treatable condition, and patients would strongly benefit from being adherent to their treatments. However, almost half of them are non-adherent, and, according to several recent studies, the way the patient perceives the disease might influence this variable. ⋯ The systematic review highlights the variability of the relationship between IP, cognitions and beliefs, and COPD treatment adherence. A new level of awareness of the relationship between patients' subjective point of view and treatment adherence may inform future treatment options and promote a more personalized intervention.

ReviewWhat Do We Know about Medication Adherence Interventions in Inflammatory Bowel Disease, Multiple Sclerosis and Rheumatoid Arthritis? A Scoping Review of Randomised Controlled Trials.
Between 53% and 75% of people with inflammatory bowel disease, 30%-80% with rheumatoid arthritis, and up to 50% with multiple sclerosis do not take medications as prescribed to maintain remission. This scoping review aimed to identify effective adherence interventions for inflammatory bowel disease, but with few studies found, multiple sclerosis and rheumatoid arthritis were included to learn lessons from other conditions. ⋯ Tailored, face-to-face, 1:1 interactions with healthcare professionals were successful at providing personalised adherence support. Accessible, user-friendly technology-based tools supported by calendars and reminders effectively enhanced adherence. Key components of effective interventions should be evaluated and integrated further into clinical practice if viable, whilst being tailored to inflammatory conditions.

ReviewSleep Disturbance and Immunological Consequences of COVID-19.
The overarching importance of sleep was further emphasized during the pandemic of COVID-19. The subjects infected by COVID-19 frequently experience sleep disturbances; some are long-lasting problems and decrease the quality of life. Insomnia is the most studied sleep disorder associated with COVID-19. ⋯ The interconnections between insomnia, the immune system, and COVID-19 are complex. Insomnia triggers numerous immune system dysregulations and makes individuals more vulnerable to respiratory infections. This narrative review overviews the influence of the COVID-19 pandemic on the immune system through sleep disorders.
