Perspective and Experience of Patients with Aplastic Anemia on Medication Adherence.
Drug treatment is critical for patients with aplastic anemia, and medication adherence directly impacts the therapeutic effect. Poor medication adherence is common among patients with chronic diseases. However, knowledge of the perceptions and experiences of patients with aplastic anemia regarding taking prescribed medicines is limited. ⋯ This study provided new perspectives on the medication adherence of patients with aplastic anemia, which may be valuable in clinical work and research. Further interventions should be developed for intentional and unintentional non-compliance. Future research can start with developing professional assessment tools addressing the influence of cognition and emotion on compliance.

Path Analysis of Influencing Factors of Depression in Middle-Aged and Elderly Patients with Diabetes.
This study aimed to assess the prevalence of depression in middle-aged and elderly patients with diabetes in China, determine the risk factors of depression in these patients, and explore the internal relationship between influencing factors and depression by constructing a pathway model. ⋯ We found that the path analysis model could construct the interaction between the influencing factors and explore the potential interrelationship between the influencing factors and diabetes-related depression. Patients with diabetes must adhere to regular medication, maintain a healthy lifestyle, and have effective glycemic control. Diabetes depression can be effectively prevented by making psychological knowledge publicly available, providing health education, and establishing corresponding for diabetes.

SPUR: A Patient-Reported Medication Adherence Model as a Predictor of Admission and Early Readmission in Patients Living with Type 2 Diabetes.
Poor medication adherence (MA) is linked to an increased likelihood of hospital admission. Early interventions to address MA may reduce this risk and associated health-care costs. This study aimed to evaluate a holistic Patient Reported Outcome Measure (PROM) of MA, known as SPUR, as a predictor of general admission and early readmission in patients living with Type 2 Diabetes. ⋯ Higher levels of MA, as determined by SPUR, were significantly associated with a lower risk of general admissions and early readmissions among patients living with Type 2 Diabetes.

Impact of Sickle Cell Disease on Academic Performance: A Cross Sectional Study.
Sickle cell disease (SCD) is a multisystemic disease that results in diverse clinical manifestations in the form of acute and chronic complications. This study aims to assess the academic achievements of patients with SCD. ⋯ SCD is a multisystemic disease that impacts socioeconomic status, learning ability, and academic achievements. More research is needed to identify factors that predict poor performance. Additionally, intelligence quotient (IQ) and cognitive assessment should be incorporated into early screening programs for SCD in order to implement preventive measures and a thorough investigation of underlying causes.

The Use of an Iterative Strategy of Cognitive Interview and Expert Consultation to Revise the Quality of Life Scale for Patients with Aplastic Anemia (QLS-AA).
Aplastic anemia is characterized by anemia, hemorrhage and infection, and is accompanied by a variety of complications and psychological burden. Therefore, the quality of life of AA patients is not optimistic. Our team is committed to developing an assessment tool for the quality of life of AA patients, and adopting an iterative strategy of cognitive interview and expert consultation to solve the challenges encountered in item revision. ⋯ This study highlights the key issues to consider when incorporating patient perspectives into quality measurement. The revision of QLS-AA through the strategy of cognitive interview and expert consultation may provide valuable insights into the measurement of quality of life in aplastic patients.
