Real-World Experience of People with Hemophilia A Receiving Turoctocog Alfa Pegol (N8-GP): Results from a Patient Experience Survey.
Turoctocog alfa pegol (N8-GP) is an extended half-life recombinant factor VIII molecule used for the treatment of hemophilia A (HA). The purpose of this study was to investigate real-world experiences of patients with HA treated with N8-GP. ⋯ Lower frequency of injections, storage flexibility and improved QoL drove satisfaction and preference for N8-GP over previous treatments among patients with HA.

The attitude of the Public Toward Social History Taking in Southern Saudi Arabia.
Social history taking is an important element of a medical interview. No previous studies, however, addressed public attitudes regarding social history taking in Saudi Arabia. ⋯ Detailed social history taking is uncommon among doctors. The public is open to discussing their social status and habits. However, questions involving income, housing, and some social habits like illicit drugs, alcohol, and sexual history are less likely to be faithfully reported and thus need to be handled appropriately. It is crucial for healthcare providers to approach social history taking with sensitivity and respect and to create a private environment for patients where they can freely and accurately share their social histories.

Impact of Sickle Cell Disease on Academic Performance: A Cross Sectional Study.
Sickle cell disease (SCD) is a multisystemic disease that results in diverse clinical manifestations in the form of acute and chronic complications. This study aims to assess the academic achievements of patients with SCD. ⋯ SCD is a multisystemic disease that impacts socioeconomic status, learning ability, and academic achievements. More research is needed to identify factors that predict poor performance. Additionally, intelligence quotient (IQ) and cognitive assessment should be incorporated into early screening programs for SCD in order to implement preventive measures and a thorough investigation of underlying causes.

Patient and Physician Preferences for Acute Myeloid Leukemia Maintenance Treatments Following Hematopoietic Stem Cell Transplantation.
This study assessed and compared preferences for treatment attributes of maintenance therapies post-hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (HSCT) in patients with acute myeloid leukemia (AML) and in physicians who treat these patients. ⋯ Differences in how patients and physicians valued post-HSCT maintenance treatment attributes were identified. These differences suggest that patient-centered decision-making may help physicians choose maintenance treatments for patients with AML post HSCT that better meet their treatment needs and improve their treatment satisfaction.

Publics' Knowledge, Perception and Practice on Management of Minor Ailment in Community Pharmacy in Malaysia.
Minor ailments can be defined as medical conditions that can be self-diagnosed, resolve on their own, and be self-managed with over-the-counter (OTC) medications. Nevertheless, minor ailment management was reported to consume much of the health care resources, which may burden the health care system as it increases patient waiting times and the doctors' workload. ⋯ Public in Malaysia have good knowledge on management of minor ailments by community pharmacies. Nevertheless, the publics' perceptions and practice need to be further improved. More advocacy on community pharmacy's roles on minor ailment management among public is need to strengthen the Malaysia's healthcare system resources.
