High-intensity statin (HIS) therapy is widely recommended for secondary prevention after an acute myocardial infarction (AMI). The 2019 European Society of Cardiology (ESC)/European Atherosclerosis Society (EAS) dyslipidemia guidelines have lowered the target low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C) level, which necessitates a more frequent use of nonstatin therapies. ⋯ The rate of LDL-C goal attainment in AMI patients was low, which indicates the need for combination statin and non-statin lipid-lowering therapies.

Novel prognostic factors in patients with diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL) are required in the era of Rituximab. ⋯ The presence of EZH2 mutations was negatively associated with relapse/progression and showed a trend for lack of complete response. Further studies are needed to define better the prognostic significance of these mutations in Mexican-Mestizo DLBCL patients.

In Mexico, up to 15% of breast cancer (BC) patients are 40 years or younger. Therefore, fertility preservation and pregnancy after cancer treatment are major concerns in this population. However, no data are available regarding Mexican physicians' knowledge and attitudes toward these issues. ⋯ It is crucial to promote physicians' knowledge and to endorse policies to overcome barriers obstructing universal access to fertility preservation for YWBC in Mexico.

Muscle mass and visceral fat may be assessed at the level of the third lumbar vertebra (L3) in computed tomography (CT). Both variables have been related with adverse surgical outcomes. ⋯ Low SMI was found to be an independent risk factor for 30-day mortality in patients submitted to colorectal surgery with a primary anastomosis, whether for benign or malignant diagnosis. VFA was not associated with 30-day mortality.

Hospital bed saturation has been one of the problems to solve during the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic. However, not every patient who is admitted requires close monitoring or specific therapeutics. Mild cases could be managed in the outpatient setting. ⋯ sat/RR index and NEWS2 score have a good capacity to discriminate patients at risk of clinical worsening, being the Sat/RR index simpler and easier to calculate.
