To assess social media and search engines used to find health information in Saudi patients and their companions and to describe their perceptions, attitudes, and practices. Methods: A cross-sectional study was carried out on 374 patients and their companions at a tertiary care hospital in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The data were collected between January and March 2018 using a self-administrated questionnaire adopted from the literature and developed in Arabic. The questionnaire was validated and modified by the researchers to fulfill the purpose of this study. ⋯ The reliability of health information on social media was met for 51% of participants, and 81.4% claimed that the health information obtained was knowledgeable. However, only 29% share their personal health experience with the public on social media. Conclusion: Our findings suggest that the majority of the participants used social media platforms to find information related to their health conditions, while approximately one third received direct medical consultations online. Public awareness to use reputable sources for health information is needed.

Randomized Controlled Trial
The Effect of sevoflurane, desflurane and propofol on respiratory mechanics and integrated pulmonary index scores in laparoscopic sleeve gastrectomy. A randomized trial.
To compare the effects of sevoflurane, desflurane, and propofol on respiratory mechanics, and integrated pulmonary index (IPI) scores in patients undergoing laparoscopic sleeve gastrectomy. ⋯ In morbidly obese patients, sevoflurane, desflurane, and propofol are similar in terms of the intraoperative respiratory mechanics, and perioperative respiratory parameters provided with IPI.

We aimed to present a case of symmetrical Wallerian degeneration (WD) in the middle cerebellar peduncles (MCPs) after a unilateral paramedian pontine infarction, which was examined by multimodality magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). In addition, we summarize the small number of reported cases. In our clinic, we observed a case of symmetrical WD of bilateral MCPs that occurred 6 months after the onset of a pontine infarction. ⋯ From the 24 cases, the detection time of WD ranged from 3 to 33 weeks. Symmetrical WD in the bilateral MCPs can occur after unilateral paramedian pontine infarction. Most cases were in Stages 2 and 3 of the disease and showed good clinical prognoses.

Indications and rate of first cesarean delivery in central region's maternity and children hospital.
To investigate the indications of first (non-repeated) cesarean deliveries, to categorize those indications into absolute and relative according to established guidelines of cesarean deliveries, and to compare the women with absolute and relative indications by demography and pregnancy-related attributes. Methods: A cross-sectional analysis of delivery data between September and October 2018, at the Maternity and Children Hospital, Buraidah, Al-Qassim, Saudi Arabia. Indications for cesarean deliveries of 200 primary cases were abstracted and were categorized into 'absolute' and 'relative' according to the Association of the Scientific Medical Societies in Germany guidelines. Results: The leading indications were fetal distress (27.5%), non-progression of labor (22.5%), breech presentation (18%), and failed initiation of labor (4.5%). Of the 200 cases, 26.5% had absolute indications, 50% had relative indications, and 23.5% had indications that were neither absolute nor relative. Women with absolute indications had lower mean gestational age and a higher proportion with greater than 3 gravida than women with relative indications (p less than 0.05). Conclusion: The most common indications for first time cesarean, in decreasing order of frequency, were fetal distress, non-progression of labor, and breech presentation.
