To drain or not to drain following thyroidectomy.: A prospective, randomized study.
To ascertain the use of draining the thyroid bed following surgery. ⋯ The routine drain placement following thyroidectomy places the patient at a disadvantage in terms of longer hospitalisation, increased post operative pain and poor cosmetic outcome.

Comparison of postoperative visual performance between trifocal intraocular lens and monofocal intraocular lens.
To compare the subjective and objective visual quality more comprehensively after surgery of the commonly used multifocal intraocular lenses (IOL) and monolocal IOL implants through long-term systematic clinical observation, providing reference and basis for clinical application. ⋯ Compared to monofocal IOL, trifocal IOL could provide a full range of clear vision for the majority of patients with simple cataracts, improve the rate of spectacles independence and patient satisfaction. And the objective quality of vision did not show any difference.

To compare the outcomes of single versus double doses of tocilizumab in patients with severe COVID-19, especially on different types of oxygenation requirements. ⋯ This study could not capture the additional value of the second dose for different health outcomes. However, the results can inform clinician from experience when facing uncertainty due to new virus or variant.

To provide an updated estimate to the prevalence of pediatric hematological malignancies (HMs) in the Al-Madinah Al-Munawwara, Saudi Arabia. ⋯ Prevalence rate can be utilized to monitor the progression of disease incidence. Here, HMs demonstrated a pattern of increasing incidence in males over a 7-year period, with a higher rate in early childhood. There were 13 types of HMs diagnosed, with B-acute lymphocytic leukemia having the highest incidence. Although juvenile cancer is rare, it is nonetheless a significant cause of mortality in children. A successful prognosis requires prompt and accurate diagnosis and treatment.

To determine the prevalence of hiatal hernia (HH) and its association with age, gender, and body mass index (BMI). ⋯ The prevalence of HH was 28.9% based on this large endoscopy-based population. We found no association between HH and gender, age, or BMI.
