To identify predictors of recurrent arteriovenous fistula (AVF) stenosis. It also seeks to calculate the average primary patency duration in Saudi patients undergoing hemodialysis. ⋯ Higher levels of corrected calcium, BMI, and the application of antiplatelet therapy were found to be predictors of recurrent AVF stenosis. No other traditional variables were found to be significant.

To review and assess the efficiency of pre-emptive plerixafor administration for poor mobilization (PM) and to review and assess mobilization efficiency (≥2×106 CD34+ cells/kg) in patients who received autologous stem cell transplantation for lymphoma and multiple myeloma (MM) at the Department of Adult Hematology/Blood Marrow Transplant, Princess Noorah Oncology Center, King Abdulaziz Medical City, Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, over the past 7 years. ⋯ Our data showed that with plerixafor pre-emptive administration, the primary endpoint was achieved for most patients identified with PM, preventing the need for a second mobilization attempt.

To evaluate hematological parameters and thrombotic profiles of healthy individuals who received Pfizer-BioNTech (BNT162b2) vaccines in Saudi Arabia. ⋯ Our data showed that the incidence of hematological abnormalities or induction of anti/PF4 antibodies following Pfizer-BioNTech (BNT162b2) vaccination is not common, which is consistent with several previous reports. However, larger studies with more participants evaluated at different timepoints following vaccination are warranted to exclude potential transient hematological abnormalities.

To evaluate serum neutrophil gelatinase-associated lipocalin (NGAL) concentrations of pregnant women complicated with coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) and investigate its diagnostic value for the severity of COVID-19. ⋯ We demonstrated that NGAL was highly associated with COVID-19 severity. We consider that NGAL might be a useful biomarker to diagnose the disease severity in patients with COVID-19.

To analyze the clinical and echocardiographic changes in individuals with morbid obesity who underwent bariatric surgery. ⋯ Bariatric surgery resulted in a significant amelioration in lipid profile, reduction in LV mass, and LV cavity dimensions.
