To analyze the fit of different competing factor models (a one-factor model, 3 2-factor models, and 2 4-factor models) of the Leeds sleep evaluation questionnaire (LSEQ) in the data from a Jordanian student population. ⋯ The results support the validity of a 4-factor structure of the LSEQ with 9-items with adequate internal consistency and divergent validity.

To assess the prevalence of melanoma and non-melanoma skin cancer for patients attended King Khalid University Hospital, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. We are also assessing the most common category of skin cancer to be encountered among those patients. Methods: The authors conducted a retrospective study including all patients (Saudi and non-Saudi) who attended King Khalid University Hospital (KKUH) at the period of (2007-2018). ⋯ The remaining 17 patients (15.3%) were diagnosed with squamous cell carcinoma. Conclusion: Skin cancer prevalence and incidence is increasing worldwide. In our study, BCC was the most common type of skin cancer to be reported in our institute, which is similar to the majority of other international studies.

To first describe the epidemiological data of burns, including burn types and burn-related infections, in adult and pediatric patients. Second, to determine the effect of Methicillin-Resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) on length of hospital stay and, third, to determine if the microbiological profile differs in patients with severe and non-severe burns. Methods: This is a retrospective chart review in which medical records of all burn patients admitted to Al-Noor Specialist Hospital, Makkah, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia between January 2016 and January 2017 were reviewed for demographic, microbiological, and burn data using a data-collection sheet. No randomization was necessary as all patients were included. ⋯ Length of stay increased in patients with infected burn injuries. Conclusion: The pediatric population had a high frequency of burn injuries, representing an incentive for more focused educational prevention programs in that group. Additionally, burn infections carry significant morbidity, and are associated with longer hospital stay. These data can help implement various prevention programs.

Early neonatal sepsis and meningitis caused by Elizabethkingia meningoseptica in Saudi Arabia.
Elizabethkingia meningoseptica (E. meningoseptica ) are Gram-negative bacteria commonly associated with nosocomial infections in neonates. This is a case study of E. meningoseptica, presented as meningitis and sepsis in a term baby. The female infant was born by vaginal delivery at 37 weeks gestational age. ⋯ The first-line antibiotics therapy was changed to ciprofloxacin, vancomycin, and rifampicin, based on the laboratory determination of antimicrobial sensitivity. The patient's clinical condition improved, although post hemorrhagic ventricular dilatation was revealed by imaging studies. Clinicians should possess proper awareness of the antibiotic sensitivity of E. meningoseptica, as it is important in preventing high rates of morbidity and mortality.
