To report the results of endoscopic dilatation of esophageal strictures in children, its complications, and their management. The outcomes of esophageal dilatation differ according to the underlying etiology. ⋯ Esophageal dilatation is effective for the management of children with esophageal stricture; however, repeated dilatation is frequent, especially in patients with corrosive strictures. Complications are not common, and open surgery is not frequently required.

To investigate the level of asthma control among children and to investigate the association between asthma control and the knowledge of caregivers. ⋯ There is a high percentage of children with uncontrolled asthma and 3 is a high knowledge deficit among the caregivers of children with asthma. An educational program targeting the general population and the caregivers should be implemented to correct any false beliefs regarding asthma and asthma medications.

To investigate the presence of toxoplasmosis, rubella, cytomegalovirus, and herpes (TORCH) infections in women attending at the antenatal care clinic in Abha, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA). Methods: A total of 190 blood samples were collected from Abha maternity hospital in Aseer region, KSA, from February 2018 to May 2019 and screened with the TORCH panel (toxoplasmagondii [IgG/IgM], cytomegalovirus [CMV] [IgG/IgM], rubella [IgG/IgM], and herpes simplex type 1 and 2 [IgG/IgM]). ⋯ Seropositivity for IgG antibodies correlate with TORCH-associated pregnancy complications in Abha, KSA; however, IgM positive CMV pregnant cases warrant further systematic investigation to understand the implications of CMV on outcomes during pregnancy.

To determine the incidence of newborn screening (NBS) disorders and to study the key performance indicators of the program. ⋯ The NBS coverage rate at our facility was 100%. Congenital hypothyroidism was the most frequently detected disorder with an incidence that matches worldwide figures. The incidence of other inherited disorders was consistent with regional figures.
