To determine and analyze the influence of age, gender, type of injury, and ethnicity in the length of stay (LoS) of in-patient rehabilitation unit patients after traumatic spinal cord injury (TSCI) and non- traumatic spinal cord injury (NTSCI). ⋯ The results of the study suggest that the gender, types of injury, and ethnicity differences were influencing factors of LoS of traumatic and non traumatic spinal cord injured patients.

To describe analgesic practices among adults presenting to the emergency department (ED), and to determine factors affecting the timeliness and adequacy of analgesia. ⋯ Our data illustrate that adults with painful conditions in our ED often receive inadequate or no analgesic treatment.

To analyze the pre-treatment cephalometric features in Saudi adults with bimaxillary protrusion and to develop cephalometric standards to clarify the overall presentation of this malocclusion for clinicians. ⋯ Saudi subjects with bimaxillary protrusion demonstrated distinctive soft tissue features when compared to the control group and to other ethnic groups with bimaxillary protrusion.

To examine the causative relationship between aberrant histone acetylation changes and cocaine-induced reward. ⋯ Histone modifications may be an important mechanism that underlies conditioned effects of cocaine. Moreover, HAT may be a potential therapeutic target for cocaine addiction.

To investigate the role of polo-like kinase -1 (PLK1) in the first cleavage of a zygote in culture. ⋯ The PLK1 plays a crucial role during the first cleavage of one-cell embryos, and the zygotes are unable to divide successfully without functional PLK1.
