Cardiothoracic ratio and left ventricular ejection fraction relationship: A meta-analysis study.
To determine the overall effect size, identify the study with the strongest effect size, and examine the age group with the strongest relationships between the variables. ⋯ This study is a meta-analytic study combining 13 studies examining the statistical relationships between CTR and LVEF. The results of this study are expected to make a valuable contribution to the field of research on the relationship between CTR and LVEF, providing a more comprehensive understanding of these associations. PROSPERO Reg. No.: 392207.

To review the epidemiology of acetabular fractures in Jordan and to provide a base to advance high-level clinical research in the future. ⋯ Acetabular fractures are uncommon injuries, with road traffic accidents being the most common cause of injury. Posterior wall fracture was the most frequent pattern; most patients were males. Our results are comparable to the literature. However, we recommend future studies to measure the outcome of acetabular fracture management.

Smoking is a global health challenge that causes a myriad of diseases. Smoking cessation services are part of the armamentarium to combat smoking epidemic. In addition to the approved treatments, alternative therapies, including electrical stimulation, have been proposed. ⋯ Systematic reviews and original studies were reviewed, and their results were summarized. In conclusion, the current best available evidence does not support the use of electrical stimulation, including Silver Spike Point therapy, in smoking cessation. Policy makers and healthcare providers should aim to utilize the available resources to provide evidence-based treatment options for patients seeking to quit tobacco use.

To examine the association between the number of non-communicable diseases (NCDs) and physical activity (PA) in older adults visiting primary healthcare centers (PHCCs) in Jizan, Saudi Arabia. ⋯ This study found a significant inverse association between the number of NCDs and PA in older adults. In addition, age was associated with lower PA, even among older adults. PA should be recommended to older adults to prevent or reduce the number of NCDs. Future research should focus on examining cause-and-effect associations at a national level.
