To determine the prevalence of cardiovascular disease (CVD) types in the Asir region of Saudi Arabia and the importance of hematological testing for CVD patients in the context of disease management. ⋯ ST-elevation myocardial infarction has a higher prevalence rate among CVD patients in the Asir region. Both coagulation and hematological indicators have high potential utility as CVD diagnostic and prognostic markers.

To retrospectively analyze the vitamin D (VD) status of residents in northeastern Inner Mongolia and its relationship with the average monthly sunshine hours. ⋯ Nearly half of residents live in LVDS. LVDS is affected by month, gender, and age.

To identify factors affecting hearing aid usage in children. ⋯ We found that children's age, gender, severity of hearing loss, residential location, and parents' educational level had a significant effect on daily hearing aid usage. Whereas, family size and a family history of hearing loss or use of amplification devices had no discernible influence.

To compares the endoclose technique (ET) techniques and surgicel plug technique (SPT) in terms of port-site related complications. Minimally invasive surgeries (MIS) are widely performed nowadays, nonetheless, port-site closure technique plays a role in the prevention of port-site related complications. ⋯ There is no significant difference between the ET and the novel SPT in terms of port-site related complications.

To investigate the prevalence of rs2015 (T>G) and rs2241703 (G>A) polymorphisms in the miRNA-SIRT2 gene in Saudi Arabia and their possible associations with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM). ⋯ Although rs2241703 SNP of Sirtuins 2 is not present, rs2015 SNP is highly prevalent in Saudi Arabia, but no direct link was identified with T2DM.
