Chitotriosidase (ChT) is an enzyme secreted by activated macrophages and neutrophils in response to proinflammatory signals. There is growing evidence indicating that ChT activity reflects the systemic inflammatory status. This study aimed to investigate whether serum ChT activity increased in patients with psoriasis and related comorbidities. ⋯ Our data support the pathogenetic role of inflammatory processes induced by macrophage activation in patients with psoriasis and related comorbidities. We believe that high ChT activity in patients with psoriasis may serve as an early prediction of the possible related comorbidities.

Non-adherence to colchicine treatment is a common misevaluation in familial Mediterranean fever.
Familial Mediterranean fever (FMF) is a hereditary autoinflammatory disease that requires lifelong colchicine treatment. Colchicine is the mainstay of the treatment, which decreases the frequency and the severity of recurrent FMF attacks and prevents the development of amyloidosis. This study aimed to investigate the rates of colchicine treatment adherence in patients with FMF and the factors related to treatment non-adherence. ⋯ Evaluating adherence to colchicine treatment with objective methods is crucial to ensure sufficient treatment and prevent amyloidosis. Determining beliefs about colchicine may increase patients’ adherence to treatment.

Evaluate the risk factors associated with pseudoaneurysms' development after the percutaneous interventional procedures performed by cardiology, interventional radiology (IR), and the other clinics. ⋯ Our study reveals that prolonged procedure duration, simultaneous arterial and venous accesses, peripheral artery disease, thrombocytopenia, and puncture site are the aggressive risk factors of pseudoaneurysms size after angiographic procedures.

COVID-19 pandemic created concerns among patients receiving immunosuppressive therapy. Frequency of COVID-19 and impact of lockdown on treatment compliance in patients with vasculitis are largely unknown. ⋯ Frequency of COVID-19 was low in patients with vasculitis in our single center cohort. Although outpatient appointments were postponed in one-third of our patients, high compliance with treatment and isolation rules ensured patients with vasculitis overcome this period with minimal morbidity and mortality.

Physical frailty is thought to be related with a decline in cognitive function, mood, and social activities, especially in patients with depression and dementia. It is not clear whether or not physical frailty is associated with an impairment in cognitive function and mood in patients without dementia and depression. In this study, we evaluated the association of physical frailty with cognitive function and mood in geriatric patients without dementia and depression. ⋯ We have demonstrated that cognitive function and mood might be associated with physical frailty in patients without dementia and depression.
