: C-reactive protein (CRP) to albumin ratio (CAR) is predictive marker of systemic inflammatory state in atherosclerotic coronary diseases when compared to predictive value of these two markers separately. We aimed to evaluate the relationship between CAR and the coronary artery calcium (CAC) score, Coronary Artery Disease-Reporting and Data System (CAD-RADS) score in patients' unknown diagnosis of coronary artery disease (CAD) underwent coronary CTA (Computed Tomography Angiography) and were classified by CAD-RADS scores. ⋯ Higher CAR can be a predictive marker of atherosclerosis and CAD. CAR may be useful in the management of patients before invasive coronary angiography. Further studies are needed to clarify the pathophysiologic role of CAR in patients with atherosclerotic coronary heart diease.

Bevacizumab is a chemotherapeutic drug, which selectively binds to vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) and mainly inhibits angiogenesis and neovascularization. We aimed to study the possible effects of bevacizumab on right ventricular pressure (RVP), right ventricular hypertrophy, and VEGF, in hypoxia - induced pulmonary hypertension (PH) rat model. ⋯ Bevacizumab, which is indeed an antineoplastic agent, might have a favorable effect on hypoxia - induced pulmonary hypertension.

Currently, there is not any specific treatment for chronic pancreatitis (CP). It was aimed to investigate the effects of melatonin administration on endoplasmic reticulum (ER) stress, oxidative stress, fibrosis, biochemical and histopathological parameters, and Abcc2,Abcc5, and Abcg2 gene levels in an experimental rat CP model. ⋯ In light of these favorable positive results, melatonin may be a useful preventive agent in the course of CP.

An Alternative Supplemental Feeding Method for Preterm Infants: The Supplemental Feeding Tube Device.
The purpose of this study was to determine the effects of the supplemental feeding tube device (SFTD) and bottle methods on weight gain, transition to full breastfeeding, breastfeeding success, and duration of discharge in preterm infants. ⋯ The SFTD and bottle methods were determined to be similar in terms of daily weight gain, transition to full breastfeeding, breastfeeding success, and duration of hospitalization.
