Pneumonia is the most serious clinical presentation of COVID-19. This study aimed to determine the demographic, clinical, and laboratory findings that can properly predict COVID-19 pneumonia. ⋯ Shortness of breath, male sex, and hypertension were significant for predicting COVID-19 pneumonia on admission. Patients with these factors should be evaluated more carefully for diagnostic procedures, such as thorax CT.

Thermopsisturcica is a perennial species endemic to Turkey and different extracts of T. turcica have an antiproliferative effect on cancer cells, but there has not been any report on HeLa (human cervical cancer) cells. ⋯ Up-regulation of protein disulfide isomerases and down-regulation of Rho GDP-dissociation inhibitor, heterogeneous nuclear ribonucleoproteins, and heat shock proteins may contribute to the induction of apoptosis and arresting of the cell cycle in HeLa cells.

This study aims to investigate peripheral nerve excitability in patients with subacute stroke. ⋯ The lower motor neurons were affected at the level of axonal channels as a result of upper motor neuron lesions. It can be due to dying back neuropathy, homeostasis, and neurovascular regulation changes in the axonal environment, activity-dependent plastic changes, loss of drive coming from the central nervous system, or a combination of these factors.

Mango ginger (MG: curcuma amada) has antioxidant and antiinflammatory activities. The aim was to evaluate the antiarthritic potential efficacy of MG on collagen-induced arthritis. ⋯ MG ameliorates arthritis via actions on inflammatory ways and wingless (Wnt) signaling pathway. These results suggest that MG may have a considerable potential efficacy for the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis.
