End-of-life decision making can be distressing for nursing students, and the purpose of this investigation was to assess undergraduate nursing students' knowledge, attitudes, and experiences with advance directives. ⋯ It is important that nursing students are exposed to advance directives in the prelicensure curriculum to prepare them for their role as professional nurses. Debriefing is an integral component of the high-fidelity simulation experience in health education. Video-assisted debriefing (VAD) is used to structure debriefing following simulation. This review synthesizes the best available evidence about VAD compared with verbal debriefing; moreover, it reviews the effectiveness of VAD on students' learning outcomes and learners' perceptions of using VAD postsimulation sessions. ⋯ VAD following simulation experiences compared with other debriefing modalities resulted in mixed findings related to learning outcomes in health education. Medical providers' unconscious biases may contribute to health disparities. Awareness and self-reflection strategies commonly used to teach cultural competence in academic settings are generally ineffective in reducing unconscious bias or motivating change. ⋯ Increasingly diverse patient populations require nurses who have the skills to understand, assess, and correct unconscious biases. To accomplish this goal, consistent exposure to unconscious bias curricula that includes focused debriefing, feedback, and management strategies is needed at all levels of nursing education. The purpose of this study was to examine nursing students' perceptions regarding the usefulness of group work in online nursing programs, to identify challenges with online group work, and to determine which factors contribute to successful completion of online group assignments. ⋯ Faculty need to implement strategies to result in positive learning experiences for online nursing students because working effectively in groups is a critical nursing skill. Online education has become a key instructional delivery method in nursing education; however, limited understanding exists about what it is like to teach online.
