Review Meta AnalysisThe diagnostic value of confocal laser endomicroscopy for gastric cancer and precancerous lesions among Asian population: a system review and meta-analysis.
The objective of this study is to evaluate the diagnostic value of confocal laser endomicroscopy (CLE) in detection of gastric cancer (GC), gastric intraepithelial metaplasia (GIM), and gastric intraepithelial neoplasia (GIN) lesions. ⋯ CLE can provide an accurate diagnosis with high sensitivity and specificity for GC, GIM, and GIN lesions. The results should be confirmed by well-designed, multi-centered, randomized controlled, and double blinded trials with large samples.

Observational StudyA reduced gastric corpus microvascular blood flow during Ivor-Lewis esophagectomy detected by laser speckle contrast imaging technique.
Reduced microvascular blood flow is related to anastomotic insufficiency following esophagectomy, emphasizing a need for intraoperative monitoring of the microcirculation. This study evaluated if laser speckle contrast imaging (LSCI) was able to detect intraoperative changes in gastric microcirculation. ⋯ Using LSCI technique, we identified a reduced microcirculation at the corpus area during open Ivor-Lewis esophagectomy. LSCI provides an option for real-time assessment of gastric microcirculation and could form basis for intraoperative stabilization of the microcirculation.
