Case ReportsThe choice of long-term anticoagulants for the pregnant patient.
The use of long-term anticoagulants in a pregnant patient poses many problems. In order to minimize the hazards for the patient and fetus the therapy must be individualized. A therapeutic regimen which calls for the use of both heparin and sodium warfarin at various intervals during gestation is discussed.
