To determine the significance of small arterially-enhancing liver lesions seen with magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) in patients with chronic liver disease. ⋯ Small, arterially-enhancing lesions detected with MRI have a low likelihood of representing HCC, and MRI follow-up of such lesions is a reasonable approach. Lesions that increase in size, convert to hypointense on subsequent T1W images, convert to hyperintense in T2W images, or develop rim enhancement on follow-up MRI images are concerning and should prompt consideration of intervention.

Anesthesia-related cardiac arrest in children: the Thai Anesthesia Incidents Study (THAI Study).
The Thai Anesthesia Incidents study (THAI Study) is the first national study of anesthesia outcomes during anesthesia practice in Thailand. The authors extracted data of 25,098 pediatric cases from the THAI Study in order to examine the incidence, suspected causes, contributory factors, and suggested corrective strategies associated with anesthesia-related cardiac arrest. ⋯ The incidence of anesthesia-related cardiac arrest was 5.1:10,000 anesthetics. Major risk factors were children younger than 1 year of age and ASA 3-5. The identifications of airway management and medication-related problems as the main causes of anesthesia-related cardiac arrest have important implications for preventive strategies.

The effect of tranexamic acid for treatment irregular uterine bleeding secondary to DMPA use.
Evaluate the efficacy of tranexamic acid and placebo for controlling irregular uterine bleeding in depot-medroxyprogesterone acetate (DMPA) users. ⋯ Tranexamic acid was more effective than placebo in short-term treatment of irregular uterine bleeding/spotting associated with DMPA use.

Clinical comparison between six-strand hamstring tendon and patellar tendon autograft in arthroscopic anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction: a prospective, randomized clinical trial.
Many randomized clinical trials demonstrated that 4-strand hamstring tendon grafts have comparable results both subjectively and objectively with the patellar tendon grafts. The authors hypothesized that the increment of hamstring tendons strength with 6-strand graft could improve the knee stability compared to the result from using the gold standard patellar tendon. ⋯ The authors concluded that using 6-strand hamstring tendons could improve knee stability in the early clinical outcomes. With no difference in subjective assessment, anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction used hamstring tendons have less donor-site morbidity, which is more compatible to Asian life-style.

Placental cord drainage and the effect on the duration of third stage labour, a randomized controlled trial.
To assess the effect of placental cord drainage on the duration of third stage labor, and to clarify the safety of this method regarding to postpartum hemorrhage, retained placenta, incidence of manual removal of placenta, and the need for blood transfusion. ⋯ Placental cord drainage shortens the duration of third stage labour. This method appears to be safe and does not increase postpartum complication.
