[Comparison of ilioinguinal-iliohypogastric nerve block versus spinal anesthesia techniques for single sided inguinal herniorrhaphy].
The aim of the study is to compare the hemodynamic effects, postoperative analgesia, time to achieve discharge criteria, and patient-surgeon satisfaction of patients who are assigned for single sided inguinal hernia repair operated under iliohypogastric ilioingıinal nerve block (IHNB) or spinal anesthesia. ⋯ IHNB provides longer postoperative analgesia and earliar discharge, although takes more time to perform and to produce maximum effect, for single sided inguinal henia repair.

The head and neck regions are the most common sites of the human body to be involved in chronic pain conditions. Neuropathic pain is a chronic pain condition, and refers to all pain initiated or caused by a primary lesion or dysfunction or transitory perturbation in the peripheral or central nervous system (CNS). ⋯ These treatments may include endodontic treatment and extraction of the tooth or teeth in the region. In this review, only post-traumatic peripheral pain neuropathies seen after dental treatments will be discussed.

Pretreatment with a very low dose of intravenous esmolol reduces propofol injection pain.
Propofol causes considerable pain upon injection, although different methods and propofol formulations have been used to decrease this pain. We aimed to investigate the effect of i.v. esmolol pretreatment on propofol injection pain. ⋯ Pretreatment with low dose esmolol i.v. Seems to be effective in attenuating pain during propofol injection.

[The effects of pregabaline on postoperative pain and opioid consumption used perioperatively in patients undergoing modified radical mastectomy].
In this study, effects of pregabaline on postoperative pain and opioid consumption used perioperatively in patients undergoing modified radical mastectomy(MRM) were investigated. ⋯ In our study, we showed that pregabalin administered perioperatively increased postoperative analgesic efficacy in MRM operations without making significant side effect, but did not change opioid consumption. We think that further studies about this topic must be held with different dose and patient groups.

If migraine does not manifest itself in the form of headache but in some other atypical symptoms with a headache, it is labeled a Migraine Variant. Many migraine variants have been redefined and included in the 2004 International Classification of Headache Disorders classification. These include hemiplegic migraine, basilar-type migraine, childhood periodic syndromes, retinal migraine, complicated migraine, ophthalmoplegic migraine and vertiginous migraine. ⋯ Migraine Variants are important to recognize in clinical practice. Most variants respond well to treatment with antimigraine prophylaxis. If diagnosed correctly, treatment response is always satisfying.
