Application of artificial vertebral body of biomimetic nano-hydroxyapatite/polyamide 66 composite in anterior surgical treatment of thoracolumbar fractures.
To study the clinical effects of the artificial vertebral body of the biomimetic nano-hydroxyapatite/ polyamide 66 (n-HA/PA66) composite for the structural reconstruction and the height restoring of the vertebral body in the thoracolumbar fractures by the anterior surgical procedures. ⋯ The artificial vertebral body of the biomimetic n-HA/PA66 composite can effectively restore the height and the structure of the vertebra, can be fused with the vertebral body to reconstruct the spinal structural stability effectively, and can be extensively used in the clinical practice.

[Anterior single segmental decompression and fusion to treat lumbar burst fracture].
To explore an improved surgical approach to the superior posterior partial resection of the fractured vertebral body followed by the single segmental fusion to treat lumbar burst fracture and to evaluate its preliminary clinical application. ⋯ The superior and posterior partial resection of the fractured vertebral body followed by the single segmental fusion can effectively decompress the vertebral canal and maintain the spine stability in treatment of the Denis B type fracture though the long-term effectiveness requires a further follow-up.

Comparative Study[Comparison of effects between two operating methods of treating intertrochanteric hip fracture with Gamma nail fixation].
To evaluate the surgical efficiency of treating the intertrochanteric hip fracture with the Gamma nail fixation and to compare two operating methods of the Gamma nail fixation. ⋯ The improved method of the Gamma nail fixation for treating the intertrochanteric hip fracture can increase the surgical efficiency and improve the patient's early recovery after operation, especially suitable for the elderly patients who have more complications. This kind of method can shorten the operating time and the anesthesia duration, reducing the incision infection and the blood loss during operation, and decrease the frequency of the X-ray use.

[Prevention of haematoma after cemented total hip arthroplasty].
To explore the cause of haematoma after the cemented total hip arthroplasty (THA) and find out the way to decrease the incidence of haematoma perioperatively. ⋯ Additional surgical procedures for the cemented THA, such as ligation of the external rotators before incision, use of plastic bandage after the drainage tube is pulled out, and prolonged stay in bed postoperatively, can greatly help to reduce the incidence of postoperative haematoma and the amount of the accumulated blood.

[Effect of three growth factors on proliferation and cell phenotype of human fetal meniscal cells].
To investigate the effects of the insulin-like growth factor 1 (IGF-1), the transforming growth factor beta1 (TGF-beta1), and the basic fibroblast growth factor (bFGF) on proliferation and cell phenotype of the human fetal meniscal cells, and to find out the best combination and concentration of the growth factors for the meniscus tissue engineering. ⋯ IGF-1, TGF-beta1 and bFGF can promote the proliferation of the human fetal meniscal cells, respectively, and the combinations of bFGF and IGF-1, IGF-1 and TGF-beta1 at their optimal concentrations can have better proliferating effects than the single growth factor. They can be used for the in vitro amplification of the meniscal seed cells.
