Observational StudyImpact of insufficient doses of medications on Helicobacter pylori eradication: a retrospective observational study.
The doses of medications may influence the success of Helicobacter pylori (H. pylori) eradication. This real-world observational study aimed to explore the impact of insufficient doses of medications prescribed for the bismuth-containing quadruple therapy (BQT) regimen on successful H. pylori eradication. ⋯ H. pylori, Helicobacter pylori; UBT, urea breath test; DPM, disintegrations per minute; BQT, bismuth-containing quadruple therapy; PPI, proton pump inhibitor; CBP, colloidal bismuth pectin; qd, once daily; bid, twice daily; tid, three times daily; qid, four times daily.

We aimed to determine the effect of diabetes mellitus (DM) on the severity of acute pancreatitis (AP) and whether diabetes is a predictor of severe acute pancreatitis (SAP). A total of 181 patients diagnosed with a first attack of AP in our hospital were retrospectively evaluated. AP severity was evaluated and compared between diabetic and non-diabetic patients. ⋯ The presence of DM (OR: 3.246, 95% CI: 1.278-8.244, P = 0.013), high (≥3) Ranson score (OR: 3.529, 95% CI: 1.342-9.280, P = 0.011), and high maximum C-reactive protein level (OR: 1.005, 95% CI: 1.001-1.010, P = 0.046) were independent risk factors predicting SAP. DM is both a risk factor for SAP and an independent predictor of SAP. Evaluation of the presence of DM at the time of diagnosis can help predict SAP in a considerably early phase.

This study aimed to determine the knowledge levels of medical interns on childhood cancers (CC). ⋯ We found that the interns were seriously lacking knowledge about CC. Training has a positive effect on CC knowledge of the interns hence, the curriculum should be rearranged properly to improve this issue. A significant portion of interns do not consider their knowledge on CC as adequate and demand for further training. Insufficient familiarity regarding the symptoms of CC may lead to delays in early diagnosis. It is of significant importance that the Ministry of Health and its stakeholders generate projects informing especially the healthcare professionals and the public regarding risk factors and the symptoms of CC.

Prevalence of female sexual dysfunction among diabetic females: a cross sectional case controlled study.
Sexual relationships, sexual functions are all parts of the female sexual identity and which influence physiological, psychological, and reproductive functions of women. ⋯ FSD is a significant health problem in premenopausal women complaining of DM. Females with type 1 DM were more affected than females with type 2 DM, who in turn were more affected than healthy controls. Long duration of the disease was the main risk factor for developing FSD.
