[Comparison of pulse oxygen saturation/fraction of inhaled oxygen and arterial partial pressure of oxygen/fraction of inhaled oxygen in the assessment of oxygenation in acute respiratory distress syndrome patients at different high altitudes in Yunnan Province].
To investigate and evaluate if pulse oxygen saturation/fraction of inhaled oxygen (SpO2/FiO2) can be used, as replacement of arterial partial pressure of oxygen/fraction of inhaled oxygen (PaO2/FiO2), to assess oxygenation in acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS) patients at different high altitudes in Yunnan Province, and to find a rapid and non-invasive method for the diagnosis of ARDS at different altitudes. ⋯ SpO2/FiO2 and PaO2/FiO2 in ARDS patients at different high altitudes in Yunnan Province have a good correlation, and non-invasive SpO2/FiO2 can be used to replace PaO2/FiO2 to assess the oxygenation in ARDS patients.

[Value of procalcitonin and critical illness score in etiological diagnosis and prognosis of sepsis caused by intra-abdominal infections].
To compare the early and late predictive values of critical illness score (CIS) and procalcitonin (PCT) in septic patients with blood stream infection (BSI) induced by intra-abdominal infection (IAI), and to identify the value of PCT in etiological diagnosis. ⋯ PCT is more reliable in the identification of pathogen type among IAI induced sepsis with BSI, while APACHE II score may perform better in predicting early and late mortality.

[Analysis of the effect of sequential high-flow nasal canula oxygen therapy in post-extubation mechanically ventilated patients in intensive care unit].
To observe the application effect of high-flow nasal canula oxygen therapy (HFNC) after extubation in patients with mechanical ventilation (MV) in the intensive care unit (ICU). ⋯ For MV patients in the ICU, the sequential application of HFNC after extubation can reduce the rate of weaning failure and the incidence of adverse events, shorten the length of ICU stay.

[Effect of noninvasive positive pressure ventilation and high-flow nasal cannula oxygen therapy on the clinical efficacy of coronavirus disease 2019 patients with acute respiratory distress syndrome].
To observe the effect of noninvasive positive pressure ventilation (NIPPV) and high-flow nasal cannula oxygen therapy (HFNC) on the prognosis of patients with coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) accompanied with acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS). ⋯ Compared with HFNC, NIPPV doesn't significantly reduce the intubation rate and mortality of patients with COVID-19 accompanied with ARDS, but it significantly increases the S/F ratio of those patients.

[Effect of high-flow nasal cannula oxygen on patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and mild hypercapnia: a retrospective cohort study based on the Medical Information Mart for Intensive Care-IV database].
To observe the effect of high-flow nasal cannula oxygen therapy (HFNC) in patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and mild hypercapnia, and to evaluate the early predictive ability of physiological parameters in these patients. ⋯ HFNC can be used in COPD patients with mild hypercapnia, but it cannot replace NIV. The accuracy of ROX index at 4 hours after HFNC treatment in predicting intubation in COPD patients with mild hypercapnia is poor.
