[Estimation of possibilities of needs fulfilment made by young people with sight disorders].
According to the statistics, the number of people with sight disorders in Poland exceeds 500 thousand. The world statistics reveal that serious sight disorders reach 1% of the population and the total number of blind and vision loss people has an expanding tendency. Functioning in the contemporary world without the sense of sight is really difficult. The sight plays the major role in experiencing reality, phenomena and objects. It is included in the group of Tele-senses, it receives the stimuli from a distance; it becomes the tool of simultaneous sense of impressions. The aim of the study is to present the estimation of possibilities of needs fulfilment referring to the perspective of people with sight disorders and compare it with analogical estimation made by non-disabled ones. Finally, the article aims to investigate if there is any relation between aforementioned estimation and other variables such as sex, the place of living and the range of vision loss. ⋯ The outcome indicates that the average rate of possibilities of sight disordered people needs fulfilment is lower than analogical rate in control group. Sex and place of living are the factors responsible for such a diversification in the field of estimation of possibility of needs realization. The range of vision loss should therefore not be treated as a factor seriously diversifying the estimation of possibilities of needs fulfilment in experimental group compared to the control group.

Case Reports[Rectus sheath hematoma: a rarely diagnosed complication of anticoagulation therapy].
Anticoagulation therapy with vitamin K antagonist (VKA) or heparin, even properly applied, may lead to occurrence of differently localized hematomas, including rectus sheath hematoma (RSH). This uncommon complication of anticoagulation is often misdiagnosed. ⋯ Hematoma was detected with delay on abdominal ultrasonography and visualized topographically on computed tomography Conservative treatment was performed. During a 5-month period, gradual reabsorption of RSH was observed on control ultrasonography examinations.

This review is focused on results of application of calcimimetic drug--cinacalcet in the treatment of secondary hyperparathyroidism in patients in 3-5 stage chronic kidney disease (CKD), excluding dialysis patients (stage 5D CKD). Oral administration of cinacalcet (15-180 mg/day) significantly reduced plasma parathormone (PTH) concentrations (> or = 30% as compared to the baseline values), but simultaneously side effects occurred, among them hypocalcemia and hyperphosphatemia. Hypocalcemia was a reason for cinacalcet withdrawal in 2-15% of patients. There is a lack of studies showing the influence of advantages and disadvantages of long-term administration of cinacalcet on outcome of 3-5 stage CKD patients.

[Analysis of incidence and clinical picture of pneumothorax in children].
Although pneumothorax has been thoroughly described since the beginning of 19th century there are few studies investigating its epidemiology in pediatric patients. The aim of this study was to evaluate incidence and clinical picture of pneumothorax in pediatric patients. ⋯ Primary and secondary spontaneous pneumothorax is a rare event in children and the majority of patients are male. Secondary spontaneous pneumothorax is a complication of underlying chronic pulmonary conditions, most frequently cystic fibrosis and pulmonary infections. Children presenting with spontaneous secondary pneumothorax tended to be younger and required longer hospital stay.
