[Evaluation of dynamic cardiac troponin I concentrations and C-reactive protein in the monitoring of myocardial infarction in patients with repeated myocardial infarction].
Significant progress in diagnosis and treatment of heart attack led European Society of Cardiology (ESC) and American College of Cardiology (ACC) to develop in 2007 a document on contemporary criteria for diagnosis of fresh myocardial infarction. In the case of percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) in patients with initially normal serum concentrations of biomarkers troponin increase above the 99th percentile upper limit of the reference points to the occurrence of myocardial necrosis dislodgement. Conventionally assumed that the increased levels of biomarkers of value in excess of 3 x 99th percentile upper reference requires identification of MI in conjunction with PCI. ⋯ The concentration of cardiac troponin I in the first hours of the course of myocardial infarction (between 6 and 9 h) in patients who have made a second heart attack tends to lower its growth levels compared to people with first MI. It can be assumed that the myocardial inflammatory response to repeated defense system reduces the area of necrosis and less ejection from the troponin myocardial cells. In patients who underwent myocardial infarction in the past and were subjected to selective coronary angiography, and its treatment by PCI, troponin I, did not exceed three times the 99th percentile of the healthy population, suggesting that the proper emergency procedures cardiac surgeons performing PCI.

[Analysis of the causes and determinants of reaction to severe stress and adjustment disorder patients on mental health clinics].
In everyday life there are many obstacles that prevent the creation of many important needs. They require a skillful adaptation and may be the cause of stress. Stress of considerable intensity can receive the joy of life and even lead to a temporary mental disorder. ⋯ The main causes of this disorder are closely related to everyday human activity and especially on employment. Harassment and bad relationships in the workplace, job loss, unemployment are the factors most often causing disorder in question. The analysis made also clear that the situations of family conflict is also a frequent cause of severe reactions to stress and adjustment disorder. Not without significance is the impact of factors such as level of education, age and sex. Analysis by specific categories of causes of reactions to stress and adjustment disorder indicates that these factors significantly correlate with the formation of these disorders in the group of people.

[Assessment of olfactory disturbances in the patients with rhinosinusitis and polypi nasi treated by endoscopic sinus surgery].
One of the most common symptoms of chronic rhinosinusitis with polyps is smell deterioration. Polypectomy and mechanical restoration of patency of the nose not always and not to the same degree leads to the sense of smell improvement. THE AIM OF STUDY was to assess the sense of smell and nasal patency in patients with chronic rhinosinusitis with polyps treated endoscopically during the healing period and the process of functional normalization of the nasal mucosa. ⋯ The smell improvement in patients with rhinosinusitis with polyps after endoscopic surgery occurs later than the nasal patency improvement what may be attributed to the process of healing and functional normalization of the nasal mucosa. On average after a year in some patients first clinical symptoms of recurrent disease emerges. Taking in to the consideration chronic and complex nature of the disease it seems reasonable to assess nasal resistance and smell during longer follow up period.

[Role of hemoglobin affinity to oxygen in adaptation to hypoxemia].
One of the basic mechanisms of adapting to hypoxemia is a decrease in the affinity of hemoglobin for oxygen. This process occurs mainly due to the increased synthesis of 2,3-diphosphoglycerate (2,3-DPG) in the erythrocytes, as well as through the Bohr effect. Hemoglobin with decreased affinity for oxygen increases the oxygenation of tissues, because it gives up oxygen more easily during microcirculation. In foetal circulation, however, at a partial oxygen pressure (pO2) of 25 mmHg in the umbilical vein, the oxygen carrier is type F hemoglobin which has a high oxygen affinity. The commonly accepted role for hemoglobin F is limited to facilitating diffusion through the placenta. Is fetal life the only moment when haemoglobin F is useful? THE AIM OF STUDY was to create a mathematical model, which would answer the question at what conditions an increase, rather than a decrease, in haemoglobin oxygen affinity is of benefit to the body. ⋯ Contrary to the widely held view that the only response to hypoxemia is a decrease in haemoglobin oxygen affinity, it was shown that under extreme hypoxemic conditions, an increased haemoglobin oxygen affinity improves the oxygenation of tissues. It was also shown that the dominance of hemoglobin with a high oxygen affinity rapidly exceeds hemoglobin with low oxygen affinity in the case of acidosis with its accompanying high tissue oxygen extraction. In cases of extreme disruptions of the acid-base equilibrium, the dominance of high-oxygen-affinity hemoglobin spans over the entire possible range of pO2 in arterial blood.

[The influence of training on rehabilitation and keep-fit tables on the chosen parameters of body weight].
More and more people in the world contend with overweight or obesity, and this phenomenon at the moment is being recognized as one of the most important problems of modern civilization observed in many developed countries. Change of the lifestyle connected with turning from the active life to the more sedentary one and bad eating habits led to the development of overweight and obesity at an alarmingly fast rate with the parallel development of interests directed on conducting the research and looking for the effective methods of fighting against the overweight and obesity. The aim of the study was to evaluate some parameters of body weight among people being put on the healthy training on the rehabilitation and keep-fit tables Slender-Life. ⋯ The healthy training on the rehabilitation and keep-fit tables Slender-Life causes the increase of the body fat-free weight. The positive acceptation of the rehabilitation on tables Slender-Life proves it should be applied.
