[Study of spinal sagittal plane curve in patients with thoracolumbar intervertebral disc herniation].
To understand the curve of thoracolumbar junction in patients with thoracolumbar intervertebral disc herniation and analyze the relation between thoracolumbar intervertebral disc herniation and spinal sagittal curve. ⋯ The Cobb angles of sagittal plane of thoracolumbar junction of spine in patients with thoracolumbar intervertebral disc herniation are greater than those in healthy controls. The abnormal spinal curve is possibly responsible for thoracolumbar intervertebral disc herniation by abnormal biomechanical action.

[A special type of discogenic low back pain: normal signal intensity of magnetic resonance imaging with abnormal discography].
To report a group of special patients showing a normal signal intensity of MRI with a positive discography and discuss its pathogenesis and clinical significance. ⋯ Patients who are refractory to conservative care and have normal signal intensity in lumbar disc MRI and who are suggested as discogenic origin and might need further treatment such as minimal invasive surgery or lumbar interbody fusion should still be examined by discography.

[Association study of SIM2 gene polymorphisms with susceptibility to congenital scoliosis in a Chinese Han population].
To investigate whether polymorphisms of SIM2 gene are associated with congenital scoliosis (CS) in a Chinese Han population. and explore the relationship of between polymorphisms of SIM2 and clinical phenotypes of CS. ⋯ Genetic variants of SIM2 gene may not be associated with the susceptibility to CS and different clinical phenotypes of CS in Chinese Han population.

[Effect of blood glucose control after small intestine exclusion surgery in Goto-Kakizaki rat with type 2 diabetes mellitus].
To evaluate the effect of diabetic control after small intestine exclusion surgery in Goto-Kakizaki (GK) rat with type 2 diabetes mellitus. ⋯ In spontaneous type 2 diabetes mellitus rats, all the small intestinal exclusion including proximal gut are effective in glucose control. In terms of intestinal nutrient absorption, duodenal-jejunal bypass may be an ideal surgery for clinical diabetic control. These findings suggest a potential role of proximal intestine in pathogenesis of type 2 diabetes mellitus.

Meta Analysis[A meta-analysis of effects of high PEEP versus low PEEP upon mortality in patients with acute respiratory distress syndrome].
To evaluate the effects of high PEEP versus low PEEP upon mortality in patients with acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS). ⋯ The use of high or low PEEP in oxygenation function does not affect hospital mortality in ARDS patients.
