[Treatment of calcaneal malunion fracture with isolated subtalar arthrodesis].
To evaluate the effect of treatment of calcaneal malunion fracture with isolated subtalar arthrodesis. ⋯ Surgical treatment including tenolysis of peroneal tendon, lateral exostectomy, and isolated arthrodesis of subtalar joint is effective on calcaneal malunion fracture.

Multicenter Study[Prospective, multicenter study of mortality and risk factors in children with acute respiratory distress syndrome in 25 pediatric intensive care units in China].
To investigate the mortality and predictors of outcome of children with acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS) in pediatric intensive care unit (PICU). ⋯ ARDS has a high risk of death, and the infiltration shadows in 2-3 quadrants, PCIS, and PaCO2 are independently associated with mortality.

[Reducing oxidative DNA damage by adding antioxidants in human semen samples undergoing cryopreservation procedure].
To evaluate the protective effects of oxidative DNA damage by adding antioxidants: ascorbate, catalase (CAT), and superoxide dismutase (SOD) in human semen samples undergoing cryopreservation procedure. ⋯ Supplementation of ascorbate or CAT reduces the level of ROS that induces sperm nuclear DNA damage, and improves the human sperm quality in the process of freeze-thawing.

[Molecular mechanism of inhibition of early pulmonary injury and inflammatory response by exogenous carbon monoxide: experiment with mice].
To investigate the effect of determine whether the CO-releasing molecules-liberated CO could attenuate leukocytes sequestration and the inflammatory response in the lung of thermally injured mice. ⋯ CORM-released CO attenuates the inflammatory response in the lung of thermally injured mice by decreasing leukocyte sequestration and interfering with NF-kappaB activation, protein expression of ICAM-1, thus suppressing endothelial cells pro-adhesive phenotype.
