[Inhibition of nuclear factor kappa B attenuates multiple organ injury following ruptured abdominal aortic aneurysm: an experiment with rats].
To investigate the effect of inhibition of nuclear factor kappa B on multiple organ injury following ruptured abdominal aortic aneurysm. ⋯ PDTC attenuates the multi-organ injury by inhibiting the expression of NF-kappaB p65, thus reducing the mRNA and protein expression of its downstream gene ICAM-1 gene.

To analyze the incidence, clinical features, and prognosis of pleuropulmonary involvement in patients with systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE). ⋯ SLE may affect all components of the respiratory system. Thoracic involvement is an adverse prognostic sign. Life-threatening pulmonary involvement is not uncommon. The clinicoradiographic features of the SLE-associated pulmonary syndromes overlap. Aggressive diagnostic evaluations such as blood culture, sputum culture, fibreoptic bronchoscopy, and lung biopsy are very important.

[Clinical features and outcomes of hyperthyroidism patients positive in propylthiouracil-induced antineutrophil cytoplasmic antibody].
To analyze the clinical features and outcomes of hyperthyroidism patients positive in propylthiouracil (PTU)-induced antineutrophil cytoplasmic antibody (ANCA). ⋯ PTU treatment should be discontinued without delay in the PTU-induced ANCA positive patients with hyperthyroidism. Treatment can be switched over to MMI when necessary. Patients with severe organ involvement should receive prednisone and immunosuppressant. No vasculitis relapse is found during the follow-up after withdrawal of PTU. However, ANCA may keep positive for a long time.
