Randomized Controlled Trial[Effects of critical ultrasonic management of Peking Union Medical College Hospital on the etiological diagnosis of patients with acute respiratory failure].
To evaluate the diagnostic value and potential therapeutic impact of Peking Union Medical College Hospital critical ultrasonic management (PCUM) in the early management of critically ill patients with acute respiratory failure (ARF). ⋯ The PCUM is seem to be an attractive complementary diagnostic tool and able to contribute to an early therapeutic decision for the patients with ARF.

Comparative Study[A comparison of results between percutaneous transforaminal endoscopic discectomy and fenestration discectomy for lumbar disc herniation in the adolscents].
To compare the preliminary clinical outcomes of percutaneous transforaminal endoscopic discectomy (PTED) and fenestration discectomy (FD) for lumbar disc herniation in the adolscents and further to summarize the clinical experience. ⋯ The preliminary clinical efficacy of both PTED and FD in the treatment of single segment lumbar disc herniation in the adolscents is satisfactory. However, PTED is a better minimally invasive surgical method with such advantages as less trauma, less blood loss, early function recovery, less effect on lumbar spinal stability and so on. The short-term outcomes of PTED are similar to that of FD.

Randomized Controlled Trial Multicenter Study[Randomized control multi-center clinical study of mycophenolate mofetil and cyclophosphamide in the treatment of connective tissue disease related interstitial lung disease].
To investigate the efficacy and safety of mycophenolate mofetil (MMF) in the treatment of connective tissue disease-related interstitial lung disease (CTD-ILD). ⋯ MMF has comparative effect as cyclophosphamide in the remission or stability of lung function and HRCT manifestations of CTD-ILD patients. MMF is generally well-tolerated, but its efficacy in maintenance therapy and long-term safety remains to be clarified.

Comparative Study[Vertebroplasty compared with conservative method of integrated Chinese and Western Medicine in patients with osteoporotic vertebral compression fractures].
To compare the effects of percutaneous vertebroplasty (PVP) versus conservative method of integrated Chinese and Western Medicine for pain relief and functional outcome in patients with painful osteoporotic vertebral fractures. New fractures and secondary adverse effects were also analyzed during a mid-long term follow-up period. ⋯ PVP has immediate pain relief and functional improvement compared with conservative treatment. PVP should be considered as the treatment of first choice for symptomatic osteoporotic vertebral fractures. However, for patients with VAS < 5, conservative method of integrated Chinese and Western Medicine may perform well.

[Effects of posterior lumbar spinal fusion on the stability of unstable lumbar segment and biomechanical properties of adjacent segments: a finite element study].
To explore the effects of posterolateral lumbar fusion (PLF) and posterior lumbar interbody fusion (PLIF) on the stability of postoperative unstable single lumbar segment and the biomechanical alterations of the adjacent segments. ⋯ Lumbar segmental stability after posterior laminectomy and facetectomy can be recovered by both PLF and PLIF. Both PLF and PLIF may increase the possibility of adjacent segment degeneration because of the augmentation of maximum stress on adjacent discs.
