[Hemodynamic and renal effects of high epidural clonidine doses in dogs].
There are no studies reporting renal effects promoted by high epidural clonidine doses. This study aimed at evaluating hemodynamic and renal effects of high epidural clonidine doses in dogs. ⋯ In our conditions and doses, clonidine has not promoted renal function changes, but has decreased hemodynamic parameters (heart rate and cardiac output).

[Minimum anesthetic volumes for extraconal retrobulbar block: comparison between 0.5% racemic bupivacaine, levobupivacaine and enantiomeric mixture S75/R25 bupivacaine].
Minimum anesthetic volume (MAV) of local anesthetics corresponds to the effective volume for regional anesthesia in 50% of patients. In this study, MAV of 0.5% racemic bupivacaine, 0.5% levobupivacaine and enantiomeric S75/R25 bupivacaine were calculated and compared. ⋯ Similar volumes of 0.5% racemic bupivacaine, 0.5% levobupivacaine and enantiomeric S75/R25 bupivacaine are needed for extraconal retrobulbar anesthesia.

[Hydrocortisone treatment and prevent post-dural puncture headache: case reports].
Post-dural puncture headache is the most frequent complication after spinal anesthesia or accidental dural perforation during attempted epidural block. This report aimed at describing the use of hydrocortisone to treat and prevent post-dural puncture headache (PDPH). ⋯ In our cases, hydrocortisone was effective to treat PDPH after failed conservative measures and EBP. Hydrocortisone for accidental dural perforation patients may be useful since it is a noninvasive technique and the incidence of PDPH in this group of patients is high. Controlled studies are needed to determine the actual role of hydrocortisone in preventing and treating PDPH.
