Comparative Study[Pathomorphology of the nodose ganglia of the vagus nerves in burns].
Pathomorphology of ganglion nodosum was studied by means of neurohistological methods in 65 dead patients during different periods of burn disease and demonstrated a definite dynamic of structural modifications. In period of burn shock there were discovered dystrophic changes and necrosis of neuron separate groups, varicose thickness of a myelin sheath, in period of toxemia hypertrophied neurons with thick axons predominated, in period of septic toxemia and burn exhaustion predominated atrophic changes, necrotic neurons and grain-blockage disintegration of nervous fibres.

Comparative Study[Color and morphological characteristics of the skin in people of different racial groups].
A complex colorimetric, spectrometric and morphological research of race-dependent differences in skin colour and structure has been carried out. Certain regularities in the quantity, distribution and morphological composition of melanin-containing structures and Hb pigment have been revealed in the Russians, Vietnamese, Angolans and Mulattoes. The study has shown that sex differences in skin color depend on hemoglobin concentration--in people of the Caucasian race; both on melanin and hemoglobin concentration--in people of the Mongolian race and only on melanin concentration--in people of the Negroid race.

Comparative Study[Hemorheologic disorders in shock of diverse etiology].
Comparative investigation of rats has been conducted to study rheologic blood properties during relative compensation and decompensation of the hemorrhagic, traumatic and burning shock. The most obvious hemorheologic disturbances have been revealed during a burning shock and feebly marked-during a hemorrhagic shock.

Comparative Study[Retraction of processes of remaining cells of the leech nervous system caused by neuron destruction].
Individual mechanosensory neurons in the leech segmental ganglia were eliminated in vivo by intracellular Pronase injection. 7-20 days later Lucifer Yellow was injected into mechanosensory neurons of the same modality in isolated ganglia. There was a clear evidence of retraction of neuronal processes. It is suggested that the leech nervous system structure is not necessarily fixed and can be changed after the death of individual neurons.

[Evaluation of the efficacy of extracorporeal membrane oxygenation of animals with acute respiratory insufficiency].
The efficiency of extracorporeal membrane oxygenation was studied for 2-3 hours in experiments on dogs with severe ventilatory respiratory failure. Extracorporeal oxygenation led to the decrease in arterial hypoxaemia and hypercapnia in animals. ⋯ At the same time during veno-arterial perfusion oxygen delivery provided by the cardiac output decreased almost two-fold by the second hour of perfusion. This might be the reason for inadequate oxygen delivery to the brain and heart. 67% and 71% of animals survived after veno-arterial and veno-venous perfusion, respectively.
