Randomized Controlled Trial
[Randomized controlled clinical trails on treatment of knee osteoarthritis with acupuncture combined with blood-letting therapy].
To observe the therapeutic effect of acupuncture combined with blood-letting therapy for knee osteoarthritis (KOA) and to analyze the synergism of the blood-letting therapy. ⋯ Acupuncture combined with blood-letting therapy can effectively improve KOA patients' physiological function and reduce joint pain especially in the early stage.

Randomized Controlled Trial
[Observation on the analgesic effect of transcutaneous electrical acupoint stimulation for breast radical carcinoma operation].
To observe the analgesic effect of transcutaneous electrical acupoint stimulation (TEAS) in assisting general anesthesia (GA) for radical operation of breast carcinoma so as to explore its clinical application value. ⋯ TEAS combined with general anesthesia for breast radical carcinoma operation can help keep a stable blood pressure during surgery, reduce the dosage of analgesics and strengthen pain relief. The analgesic effect of TEAS may be related to its effect in up-regulating plasma beta-endorphin level.

To observe the effect of electroacupuncture (EA) on the expression of spinal glial fibrillary acidic protein (GFAP), tumor necrosis factor-alpha (TNF-alpha) and interleukin-1beta (IL-1beta) in chronic constriction injury (CCI) rats. ⋯ EA can effectively suppress CCI-induced up-regulation of expression of spinal GFAP, TNF-alpha mRNA and IL-1beta mRNA, which may contribute to its effect in reducing mechanical allodynia and thermal hyperalgesia in neuropathic pain rats.

To observe the effect of electroacupuncture (EA) on cortical spreading depression (CSD) and contents of plasma calcitonin gene-related peptide (CGRP) and substance P (SP) in migraine rats. ⋯ EA of GB 34 and LR 3 can effectively suppress KCI provoked cortical spreading depression and plasma CGRP and SP levels in the rat, which may contribute to its effect in relieving migraine in clinic.

To observe the effect of electroacupuncture (EA) of different acupoint groups on the expression of NR 2 B subunit of N-methyl-D-aspartate (NMDA) receptor in the cervical spinal cord in rats with thyroid regional pain so as to analyze the analgesic mechanism of acupuncture for performing thyroid surgery. ⋯ Both EA-ST 32 and EA-LI 4-PC 6 can significantly suppress thyroid regional pain induced behavior reactions, which may be closely associated with their effects in down-regulating NR 2 B phosphorylated level. The analgesic effect of EA-ST 32 and EA-LI 4-PC 6 for thyroid surgery is relatively more effective in comparison with EA-ST 36-GB 34.
