Randomized Controlled Trial[A randomized double-blind study of prevention of postoperative nausea and vomiting with ondansetron, tropisetron, or granisetron in patients undergoing general anesthesia].
To compare the efficacy of different 5-hydroxytryptamine 3 receptor antagonists in the prevention of postoperative nausea and vomiting (PONV) in patients undergoing general anesthesia. ⋯ Intravenous ondansetron (4 mg), tropisetron (5 mg), or granisetron (3 mg) before anesthesia induction can prevent PONV with similar efficacy and safety.

To compare the hemodynamic responses to nasotracheal intubation with Glide Scope video-laryngoscope (GSVL), Macintosh direct laryngoscope (MDLS), and fiberoptic bronchoscope (FOB). ⋯ The hemodynamic responses to nasotracheal intubation are most severe with FOB, followed by MDLS, and then GSVL.

[Safety and efficiency of non-permanent inferior vena cava filters in preventing pulmonary embolism].
To assess the effectiveness and safety of non-permanent filter in preventing pulmonary embolism (PE) caused by deep venous thromboembolism (DVT). ⋯ Non-permanent filter can safely and effectively protect patients from PE. More standardized criteria for placement and protocols to ensure timely removal should be developed and implemented.

[Expression changes of metabotropic glutamate receptor 5 in neuropathic pain].
To investigate the expression changes of metabotropic glutamate receptor 5 (mGluR5) in neuropathic pain. ⋯ mGluR5 is differentially expressed in spinal cord in response to neuropathic pain, which suggests that mGluR5 may be involved in the mechanism of neuropathic pain.
