[Palliative Care in Undergraduate Medical Education:Experiences in Developed Countries and Regions].
Palliative care focuses on improving the quality of life for patients and families facing life-threatening illness. Since its introduction in China, palliative care has developed rapidly with greater numbers of elderly adults and increasing chronic disease. However, palliative care education lags behind somehow, especially for undergraduate medical students. This article summarizes the history and status quo of palliative care education for undergraduate medical students in countries and regions including the United Kindom, the United States,Japan, and Taiwan Province, with an attempt to further promote the palliative care education for medical students in mainland China.

Randomized Controlled Trial[Effects of Continuous Intravenous Intraoperative Lidocaine Infusion on Opioids Consumption and Postoperative Recovery in Patients Undergoing Video-assisted Thoracoscopic Lobectomy].
Objective To investigate whether continuous intravenous intraoperative lidocaine infusion can reduce the opioids dosage and improve postoperative recovery in patients undergoing video-assisted thoracoscopic(VATS) lobectomy. Methods Totally 60 patients undergoing VATS lobectomy were enrolled in this single-center randomized controlled study. The patients were equally randomized into lidocaine continuous pumping group(lidocaine group) and control group by computer-based random numbers. ⋯ The incidence of postoperative nausea within 24 hours was significantly lower in the lidocaine group(P=0.045). There was no significant difference between the two groups in postoperative recovery(all P>0.05). Conclusion Intravenous continuous pumping of lidocaine during operation can reduce opioids consumption and lower the incidence of postoperative nausea without extra adverse or toxic reaction in patients undergoing VATS lobectomy.

Antenatal Sonographic Diagnosis and Clinical Significance of Placenta Previa Accreta after Cesarean Section.
Objective To investigate the clinical and antenatal sonographic characteristics of placenta previa accreta after cesarean section. Methods The data of 21 inpatients diagnosed as placenta previa accreta after cesarean section in PUMC Hospital from 2006 to 2016 were retrospectively reviewed. The clinical and ultrasound features were recorded and compared among three placental accreta groups, including placenta accrete group(n=5),increta group(n=12),and percreta group(n=4). ⋯ The blood loss of the following cesarean section showed significant difference among different placenta accreta groups(U=118.500,P=0.000). Conclusions The clinical and sonographic manifestations of placenta previa accreta after cesarean section show a spectrum of demographic characteristics. The measurement of thickness of placenta at the anterior lower segment may help the evaluation of the clinical prognosis of this special pathology.

Bone Marrow Imaging by Third-generation Dual-source Dual-energy CT Using Virtual Noncalcium Technique for Assessment of Diffuse Infiltrative Lesions of Multiple Myeloma.
Objective To evaluate the value of bone marrow imaging by third-generation dual-source dual-energy CT(DSDECT) using virtual noncalcium(VNCa) technique for the assessment of diffuse infiltrative lesions of multiple myeloma(MM). Methods From December 2015 to June 2016,31 patients with plasma disorders at our center were prospectively recruited and received whole-body imaging with third-generation DSDECT and MRI. CT numbers of vertebrae were measured on VNCa images as well as regular CT images. ⋯ ROC analysis showed the area under the curve of VNCa for the diagnosis of infiltrative lesions was 0.943. With the cut-off value of-37 HU,the sensitivity and specificity of VNCa were 90.32% and 87.18%,respectively. Conclusion Bone marrow imaging by third-generation DSDECT using VNCa technique is a valuable tool for assessing diffuse infiltrative lesions of MM.

Randomized Controlled TrialComparison of the Ambu Aura-i with the Air-Q Intubating Laryngeal Airway as A Conduit for Fiberoptic-guided Tracheal Intubation in Children with Ear Deformity.
Objective To compare the Ambu Aura-i with the Air-Q intubating laryngeal airway for fiberoptic-guided tracheal intubation in ear deformity children. Methods Totally 120 children who were scheduled for elective auricular reconstruction surgery requiring general anaesthesia with tracheal intubation were enrolled in this prospective study. They were randomized to receive either the Ambu Aura-i (Aura-i group) or Air-Q (Air-Q group). ⋯ Hemodynamic changes were not significantly different between two group. The incidence rate of sore throat two hours after operation was 6.5% (n=4) in the Air-Q group and 5% (n=3) in the Aura-i group. Conclusion Both Ambu Aura-i and Air-Q intubating laryngeal airway are effective conduits for beroptic-guided tracheal intubation, with advantages including simple operation, high success rate, and fewer complications, especially the Ambu Aura-i.
