ReviewPsychedelics as an emerging novel intervention in the treatment of substance use disorder: a review.
Classical psychedelics are a group of drugs characterized by their activation of the serotonin-2A (5-hydroxytryptamine-2A; 5-HT2A) receptor and the unique hallucinogenic and mystical-type experiences that result. After a substantial period of restrictions limiting investigations into the therapeutic potential of psychedelics, a relatively recent recommencement of interest has sparked the burgeoning possibility for these drugs to play a part in the treatment of a wide array of psychopathologies. One of the most promising is in the study of addiction. ⋯ The neural targets for these psychedelics are varied and underlie a complex mechanism of action-modulating multiple neural networks. It is believed that these agents allow for the reorganization of disordered neural pathways in the default mode network and attenuate maladaptive signaling in mesolimbic reward circuitry. The aim of this review is to examine the current standing of evidence regarding psychedelic psychopharmacology and to provide an overview of the use and effectiveness of these drugs in the treatment of SUD, alcohol use disorder, and for smoking cessation.

ReviewAdvances of exosome isolation techniques in lung cancer.
Lung cancer (LC) is among the leading causes of death all over the world and it is often diagnosed at advanced or metastatic stages. Exosomes, derived from circulating vesicles that are released from the multivesicular body, can be utilized for diagnosis and also the prognosis of LC at early stages. Exosomal proteins, RNAs, and DNAs can help to better discern the prognostic and diagnostic features of LC. ⋯ To fill this gap, in this review, we summarize the recent investigations regarding isolation and also the characterization of exosomes of LC cells. Furthermore, we discuss the noncoding RNAs as biomarkers and their applications in the diagnosis and prognosis of LC. Finally, we compare the efficacy of exosome isolation methods to better fi + 6 + guring out feasible techniques.

ReviewMitochondrial dynamic changes in health and genetic diseases.
Mitochondria are highly specialized in function, but mitochondrial and, therefore, cellular integrity is maintained through their dynamic nature. Through the frequent processes of fusion and fission, mitochondria continuously change in shape and adjust function to meet cellular requirements. ⋯ Mutations in the genes encoding mitochondrial fusion/fission proteins, such as MFN2 and OPA1, have been associated with an increasing number of genetic disorders, including Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease type 2A (CMT2A) and autosomal dominant optic atrophy. In this review, we address the mitochondrial dynamic changes in several important genetic diseases, which will bring the new insight of clinical relevance of mitochondrial genetics.

Review Meta AnalysisQuantitative analysis of the association between interleukin-10 1082A/G polymorphism and susceptibility to sepsis.
There are some epidemiological studies investigating the association between interleukin-10 (IL-10) 1082A/G polymorphism and sepsis susceptibility reporting conflicting findings. Our work tried to further quantitatively assess the association of the IL-10 1082A/G polymorphism with sepsis susceptibility through a systematic review and meta-analysis. A total of eleven studies with 2,528 subjects were finally included into the meta-analysis. ⋯ Subgroup analysis by ethnicity showed that there was an obvious association between IL-10-1082A/G polymorphism and sepsis susceptibility in Asians under three comparison models (for G vs A: OR = 0.75, 95 % CI 0.62-0.91, P = 0.004; for GG vs AA: OR = 0.39, 95 % CI 0.21-0.73, P = 0.003; for GG vs AA/AG: OR = 0.36, 95 % CI 0.14-0.92, P = 0.032), but there was no similar association in Caucasians under all four comparison models. Our meta-analysis reveals that the IL-10-1082A/G polymorphism has an association with the susceptibility to sepsis in Asian populations. Further studies are needed to investigate the effect of IL-10-1082A/G polymorphism on sepsis susceptibility in Caucasians.
