Observational Study[Profile of patients evaluated with the Carbon Monoxide Diffusion Capacity Test: A Chilean experience].
The carbon monoxide diffusion capacity test (DLCO) is a clinically useful, routine, non-invasive lung function assessment to determine the status of lung function in patients with chronic disorders such as interstitial lung disease (ILD). ⋯ In DLCO users, the main consultation diagnosis was ILD. High frequency of obesity and smoking stood out, with no difference in consumption by sex in current smokers, but yes in ex-smokers.

[Adverse Drug Events in Hospitalized Patients in Chile: Prevalence & Implications].
To study the prevalence of adverse drug events (ADE) in hospitalized patients in Chile. As part of our research, we also assessed the validity of the method used to identify the occurrence of an ADE based on the discharge diagnoses of the patient. ⋯ This paper uses nationwide data to describe the prevalence of ADEs and their correlation with different factors associated with the patient, the patient's disease, and the health service. These studies are essential to designing public health policies that effectively address healthcare quality and patient safety.

[Intercultural Competences in Chilean Dental Education for Inclusive Healthcare].
Cultural diversity in Chile and inequities in access and quality of care require the development of cultural competencies in health professionals. Internationally, cultural competence has been integrated into the curricula of health professional programs; however, in Chile it is still in its early stages. ⋯ Including cultural competence in dental curricula is essential for more inclusive and culturally safe health care. Its longitudinal integration into various courses, employing effective teaching and assessment methodologies, is recommended. The results of this study provide a guide to identifying the knowledge, skills, and attitudes needed to train health professionals who ultimately deliver appropriate health care with cultural pertinence.

[Strategies on critical levels and nodes to improve self-management in people with cardiovascular risk factors in COVID-19 pandemic conditions].
Chile faced the Sars-Cov-2 pandemic, which coexisted with food-nutritional problems related to non-communicable diseases (NCDs). Due to this context, individuals with chronic conditions had less chance to receive medical attention due to the restructuring of the public health system. ⋯ It is necessary to re-evaluate primary care policies in light of these proposed strategies for sharing responsibility and empowering users about their abilities.

[Intralesional Injections of 5-Fluorouracil: innovative and effective treatment of Primary Pterygium].
To determine the effectiveness of intralesional 5-Fluorouracil (5-FU) in symptomatic relief, astigmatism, and desire for surgery in patients with primary pterygium. ⋯ The intralesional injection of 5-FU showed a significant improvement in symptomatic relief without associated complications, generating a therapeutic alternative in patients with primary pterygium without surgical indication.
