Randomized Controlled Trial Clinical Trial[Pharmacokinetic study of intraperitoneal chemotherapy with high-dose cisplatin for advanced ovarian cancer].
To determine the characteristics of pharmacokinetics with high-dose cisplatin (DDP) instilled intraperitoneally and its toxicity as compared with that by intravenous (i.v.) route of administration (i.p.). ⋯ This study indicates that high-dose DDP i.p. therapy offers some advantages in the treatment of ovarian cancer. The tumor tissues and peritoneal growths could be bathed in a high concentrations of DDP with a longer duration, so that the tumorcidal effect may be increased. The drug concentration in serum after i.p. therapy was as high as i.v. route. The toxicity of high-dose DDP i.p. therapy was not higher than that of i.v. therapy.

Clinical Trial[The prospective study of trial labor following previous cesarean section].
To investigate the trial of labor following previous cesarean section. ⋯ Carefully selecting the indication of trial labor and monitoring the labor course are very important for increasing successful vaginal delivery rate and reducing repeat cesarean section.

[Direct genotyping and antenatal diagnosis of deletional alpha-thalassemia of the southeast Asian type by polymerase chain reaction technique].
To study the gene of deletional alpha-thalassemia of the Southeast Asian type (SEA) and to perform the antenatal diagnosis. ⋯ The present method is simple and rapid in detection of carriers and antenatal diagnosis of the alpha-thalassemia of southeast Asian type.

[Analysis of complications associated with catheter intraperitoneal chemotherapy of ovarian carcinoma].
115 patients suffering from ovarian carcinoma were admitted from May 1976 through August 1991, and were treated with intra-peritoneal chemotherapy. A total of 191 catheters which with 2mm in diameter and 50 cm in length were inserted with 608 courses of chemotherapy. 29 plastic catheters used by 29 patients were kept for 18.4 days averagely, while 162 silica catheters used by 86 patients were kept 109 days in average. The duration of keeping silica catheters was significantly longer than plastic catheters (P < 0.01). ⋯ There was no statistical significance (P < 0.05). When catheter retainment times of the two groups were compared, significant differences were found between plastic and silica catheters (P < 0.001). Our results indicate that both kinds of catheters may be used in intraperitoneal chemotherapy of ovarian cancer patients, and the silica ones seem better.

Comparative Study[The antimetastatic effects of BJA-II on nude mice with highly metastatic human ovarian carcinoma].
Nude mice with highly metastatic human ovarian carcinoma were treated with BJA-II. This new agent was made in our institute. Twenty-four experimental mice were divided into 4 groups with 6 mice each. ⋯ The influences on the immunofunction of the host were observed: the increase of the peripheral WBC count, the increase of NK cell activity, the increase in the ratio of spleen weight to body weight, and the histiocyte increase in the lymph node sinuses, etc. All of these findings were better demonstrated in the BJA-II group than in the cisplatin group. The results indicate that BJA-II is provided with the effectiveness of inhibiting tumor growth, is antimetastatic and is capable of increasing the immunofunction of the host.
