Effects of Gestational Weight Gain on Delivery Outcomes in an Obese, Low-Income Population.
To examine the effects of weight gain/loss on delivery outcomes stratified by class of obesity in an obese, low-income, predominantly minority population. ⋯ Obesity class 3 women may benefit from less weight gain than current recommendations without increasing their risk of SGA infants or preterm birth, especially if gestational diabetes mellitus is present.

Sentinel Lymph Node Sampling in Robot-Assisted Staging of Endometrial Cancer.
Sentinel lymph node (SLN) sampling in endometrial cancer staging has become an acceptable standard. Indocyanine green dye injected into the cervix and detected by near-infrared light is technically simple and sensitive. We aimed to evaluate SLN sampling in robot-assisted surgical staging of endometrial cancer at a university-affiliated teaching hospital. ⋯ SLN mapping and sampling at a university-affiliated teaching hospital have comparable map rate, sensitivity, and negative predictive value as demonstrated in multiple trials. The technique has the potential to standardize endometrial cancer staging across different practice settings.

Investigating Barriers to Completion of Postpartum Tubal Ligation: A Retrospective Chart Review.
To identify the completion rate for postpartum tubal ligation (PPTL) and predictors of noncompletion of PPTL in a central New Jersey population. ⋯ Cesarean delivery is a strong predictor of PPTL completion, most likely because of easier availability of the operating room, anesthesia, and ancillary staff. Body mass index, gravidity, and parity are not associated with PPTL completion. Future research should focus on exploring whether this association is system, provider, or patient dependent.

Effect of Dysphagia on Hospital Outcomes and Readmissions in Patients with Human Immunodeficiency Virus.
Dysphagia is a common symptom in patients hospitalized with human immunodeficiency virus (HIV). There are limited data on the relation between dysphagia and important hospital outcomes. The aim of our study was to assess the impact of dysphagia on hospital costs, length of stay (LOS), mortality, and 30-day readmission rates in HIV patients hospitalized with dysphagia. ⋯ In hospitalized patients with HIV, dysphagia is a significant independent predictor of longer LOS, higher costs, and higher rates of 30-day readmissions. These findings highlight the importance of optimizing treatment of dysphagia in patients with HIV to mitigate its negative impact on patient and hospital outcomes.

Fibrin-Associated Diffuse Large B Cell Lymphoma Found on Revision Arthroplasty of the Knee.
Fibrin-associated diffuse large B cell lymphoma (FA-DLBCL) is a rare Epstein-Barr viruspositive B cell lymphoma that is nonmass-forming, does not directly produce symptoms, and is incidentally discovered on histological examination of tissues excised for other reasons. Despite overlap in morphologic and immunophenotypic features with aggressive B cell neoplasms, FA-DLBCL shows an excellent clinical outcome, even with surgical excision alone. We report an extremely rare occurrence of FA-DLBCL found in association with a metallic implant on revision arthroplasty of the knee. This report also illustrates the need for an integrated multidisciplinary approach for accurate diagnosis and avoidance of overtreatment.
