ReviewBreast Cancer Screening Recommendations for Transgender Patients: A Review.
Shifting societal attitudes trending toward increased acceptance of transgender people has contributed to a growth in the population of individuals who openly identify as transgender as well as an increase in utilization of gender-affirming surgeries. Therefore, health care providers should work toward increasing their knowledge with respect to the health care needs of the transgender population, particularly given that these individuals often face discrimination in the health care system.
