[Assessment of central venous-to-arterial CO(2) difference during early goal-directed therapy in patients with septic shock].
To detect the changes of central venous-to-arterial carbon dioxide difference (P(cv-a)CO(2)) during early goal-directed therapy (EGDT) in patients with septic shock and evaluate its' value in predicting adequate resuscitation and prognosis. ⋯ Increasing of P(cv-a)CO(2) after EGDT purports inadequate tissue perfusion in patients with septic shock. Changes of P(cv-a)CO(2) during EGDT demonstrated a useful tool to evaluate adequate resuscitation and prognosis.

[Early outcome of vertical expandable prosthetic titanium rib technique in treating early-onset scoliosis].
To investigate the early outcome of vertical expandable prosthetic titanium rib (VEPTR) technique in treating early-onset scoliosis. ⋯ VEPTR technique proves to be an effective way of preventing curve progression in early-onset scoliosis patients while allowing growth of spine and chest. Yet, indications for such a technique need to be strictly selected because of the relatively high complication rate.
