Efficacy of intra-articular dexmedetomidine for postoperative analgesia in arthroscopic knee surgery.
Various drugs are administered intraarticularly to provide postoperative analgesia after arthroscopic knee surgery, of which opioids and alpha2 agonists could be of particular interest. ⋯ Dexmedetomidine, added as adjunct to ropivacaine in patients undergoing arthroscopic knee surgery, improve the quality and duration of postoperative analgesia.

Intermittent oral iron supplementation during pregnancy.
It has been suggested that in pregnant women weekly iron supplements are as effective as daily supplements in preventing iron deficiency anaemia (IDA). ⋯ Prophylactic oral iron supplements when given intermittently were not effective in preventing iron deficiency anaemia in pregnancy.
