Comparative Study[Application of thoracoscopic surgery in repairing esophageal atresia type Ⅲ with tracheoesophageal fistula in neonates].
To compare the efficacy of thoracoscopic surgery versus thoracotomy in repairing esophageal atresia type Ⅲ with tracheoesophageal fistula (EA/TEF) in neonates. ⋯ Thoracoscopic repair is a preferred surgical procedure for EA/TEF in neonates.

[Association of parameters in dynamic contrast-enhanced MRI using reference region model with prognostic factors and molecular subtypes of breast cancer].
To investigate the association of parameters in dynamic contrast-enhanced magnetic resonance imaging (DCE-MRI) using reference region model with prognostic factors and molecular subtypes of breast cancer. ⋯ High RR Ktrans and Kep are associated with poor prognosis of breast cancer, and which can also be used to distinguish molecular subtypes of breast cancer.

Review[Potential clinical application of Kisspeptin in reproductive endocrinology].
Gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH) plays an important role in the process of reproduction. Studies have shown that a family of peptides Kisspeptin can act on GnRH-related neurons, stimulating the secretion of GnRH, and activating the hypothalamic-pituitary-gonadal axis. Both animal experiments and clinical studies have shown that exogenous administration of Kisspeptin is able to induce physiological GnRH release in healthy individuals and those with endocrine-disorders, which brings great hope for treatment of reproductive endocrine diseases. ⋯ Kisspeptin is involved in trophoblast invasion, so it may be useful for predicting pregnancy outcomes. In addition, Kisspeptin is the key hormone in the onset of puberty acting as a signal transducer in metabolism and reproduction, so it provides some directions for studies of polycystic ovary syndrome, hyperprolactinemia, and other metabolic-related reproductive endocrine diseases. This article reviews the character of Kisspeptin and the prospect of its application in treatment of reproductive endocrine diseases.

[Advances of immunological pathogenesis research in HIV related neurocognitive disorder].
With extended life of HIV-infected patients due to highly active anti-retroviral therapy (HAART), the rate of HIV associated neurocognitive disorder (HAND) remains high and attracts much attention. The evidence is clear that cytokines are elevated in the blood of patients with HIV infection, which contribute to elevating the permeability of blood-brain barrier. ⋯ These activated brain glial cells and perivascular macrophages, which release inflammatory mediators, are the main contributors to neuroinflammation resulting in neuronal dysfunction. The pathogenesis of HAND is multifaceted, however, mounting evidence indicates that HIV related neuroinflammation plays a major role, which should be the focus of therapeutic research for HAND in future.

Review[MicroRNAs: a type of novel regulative factor for intervertebral disc degeneration].
Intervertebral disc degeneration (IDD) is one of major causes for intervertebral disc degenerative diseases, and patients with IDD usually suffer from serious low back pain. The current treatments for patients with IDD only relieve the clinical symptom rather than restore biological balance of IDD, leading to inadequate and unsatisfactory results. MicroRNAs (miRNAs) are endogenous, non-coding, single-stranded RNA molecules, which regulate the gene expression at the post-transcription levels. ⋯ Accumulating evidences indicate that the expressions of miRNAs change significantly in degenerative tissues. In addition, dysregulated miRNAs contribute to multiple pathological process of IDD, including proliferation and apoptosis of nucleus pulposus and extracellular matrix components, inflammatory response and cartilage endplates degeneration. In this review article, we summarize the expression profiles and roles of miRNAs in IDD, which may provide a novel strategy of biological therapy for the disease.
