Review[Interstitial lung disease associated with connective tissue diseases: diagnosis and treatment approaches].
Connective tissue diseases are a diverse group of immunologically mediated systemic disorders that often lead to thoracic changes. There are huge differences between epidemiological studies depending upon method of ascertainment and selection criteria regarding the incidence of respiratory involvement due to connective tissue diseases. However, increased mortality and morbidity develops pulmonary involvement due to connective tissue diseases. ⋯ The diagnostic methods of disease include clinical approach, pulmonary function tests, high-resolution computed tomography, bronchoalveolar lavage and surgical lung biopsy. Treatment and selection of drugs are still controversial. In this review, a CTD-ILD, separately for each diagnosis, pulmonary function tests and radiological features, prognosis and treatment approaches were evaluated.

Study of the prevalence of sleep apnea syndrome's symptoms in a Moroccan population.
Sleep apnea syndrome is increasingly common in the general population and is under-diagnosed but we lack studies on the estimation of its specific prevalence in several populations including Morocco. ⋯ Prevalence of the main symptoms of sleep apnea syndrome is high in our study (9.5%). Polygraphy or polysomnography is warranted to diagnose and have an exact prevalence in the Moroccan population.

Review[The effect of non-invasive mechanical ventilation in postoperative respiratory failure].
Postoperative respiratory failure is related with the highest mortality and morbidity among all perioperative complications. The most common underlying mechanism of postoperative respiratory failure is the development of atelectasis. Anaesthesia, medications which cause respiratory depression, high FiO2 use, postoperative pain and disruption of muscle forces due to surgery leads to decrease in functional residual capacity and results in atelectasis formation. ⋯ The differences of this therapy from standard application and potential complications should be well known in order to improve prognosis in these group of patients. The primary aim of this review is to underline the pathogenesis of postoperative respiratory failure. The secondary aim is to clarify the optimum method, effect and complications of non-invasive mechanical ventilation therapy under the light of the studies which was performed in specific patient groups.

Case ReportsAn extremely rare case of multiple calcifying tumor of the pleura.
Calcifying fibrous tumors are uncommon lesions. These lesions are made up of hyalinized collagenous fibrotic tissues interspersed with lymphoplasmacytic infiltrates and extensive dystrophic calcifications mimicking psammomatous features. Calcifying tumor of pleura is rarely presented. ⋯ Frozen sections of pleural biopsies that were taken during video-assisted thoracoscopic surgery were reported as calcifying fibrous tumor. Because of the presence of multiple lesions and pleural adhesions, curative pleural decortication was performed. This case is presented with extremely rare entity of multiple calcifying tumor of plevras.

Factors influencing compliance with continuous positive airway pressure ventilation in obstructive sleep apnea syndrome.
Positive pressure ventilation is considered first line therapy in obstructive sleep apnea syndrome however compliance is limited by various factors. We aimed to investigate possible factors influencing compliance. ⋯ Factors influencing compliance rates in obstructive sleep apnea syndrome seems to be related to satisfaction about the device use however upper airway morphology measured with C2 vertebrae level and narrowest airway passage has no impact on treatment compliance.
