HospitaL admission is a crisis for the patient and his family and can interfere with the continuity of care. It may lead to mistakes due to communication problems between the primary care physician and the hospital medical staff. ⋯ The communication between the primary care physician and the hospital physicians should be improved through mutual workshops promoting communication channels conducted by the academic institutes and health maintenance organizations and the Ministry of Health.

Data on the determinants of breastfeeding in the Israeli Arab population are scarce. ⋯ The rate of exclusive breastfeeding is low and early breastfeeding weaning is common in Arab infants. The predictors of early and prolonged breastfeeding are in part behavioral and modifiable. Breastfeeding practices among IsraeLi Arab infants can be improved by adequate health education. Such interventions should also be oriented to Arab fathers.

Currently, dual antiplatelet treatment is conducted with aspirin and clopidogrel. Preterm termination of combined treatment may cause morbidity and mortality. In patients about to undergo surgery, antiplatelet treatment is withheld before the operation to avoid perioperative excessive bleeding. As a consequence, these patients are at high perioperative thromboembolic risk. ⋯ Many articles have pointed out the problems of current perioperative antiplatelet management and call for change. A precise assessment of the patient's indications, risk factors and perioperative bleeding, as guided by the suggested protocol, will result in better antiplatelet perioperative treatment, and will avoid both thromboembolic and bleeding risks.

Although the unique characteristics and abilities of youths were noted in ancient ages, it was only later that the process of adolescence was studied and understood. Adolescents are considered a healthy population when compared to younger kids and adults. However, unlike other age groups, the morbidity and mortality of adolescents has not decreased in the last decades, probably due to risk-taking behaviors. ⋯ The authors presented the positive feedback of the participants in the program and demonstrated that following the program there was a positive influence on their practice when dealing with adolescents. We call to incorporate the teaching of adolescent medicine in all Levels, starting at medical school. Using the simulation tool is very helpful in improving the communication skills of medical personnel.
